Help!RN from the Philippines now a Permanent Resident in Ontario

Hi everybody!!

I ve been reading this forum for a while, searching the different threads but I havent found any that directly answer my inquiry.

lets start with a story: Im a nurse in the Phillipines,batch 2006, graduate of a state university and worked as a clinical instructor for a year. Came here last Nov, and submitted my papers to CNO for the assessment. Now, I am waiting for the result of the assessment. I ve been a housewife since I arrived and no idea if I will be a nurse here or not.

I worked as a part timer this Xmas season in an organization, Salvation Army after my 3 weeks stay.. I was lucky to have a job quickly and after the season,I have no job which I m not having used to. Im trying to find a job in line with my profession, caregiver, nanny etc..

so the questions are here:

1. How long will the assessment take place?

2. What other jobs besides caregiving/nanny could I apply since Im not registered here?

3. are there members of this forum that has a similar case with me? I really need some inputs and some what to talk to..( talking about comfort and re assurance)

Hmm, but I am in Canada, far away from Norway :D, so I ask again someone who will know how long should I wait for letter of direction from CNO.

I'm in Canada too. Took me 5 months wait after I sumbitted my BET. Good luck.

You have to wait it out. The provincial colleges work at their own speed. It once took the better part of four months to move my permit between provinces.:eek:

I wait already 4th month for my RPN letter of direction. If I didn't receive it on November I wouldn't be able to take required courses in winter semester :bluecry1:

There are so slow. I call them or send emails very ofter, but they still ask me to wait because this is long process :clown: maybe they have million applicants, who knows?

I would just like to ask how long would it take to finish the RPN and RN CNO assessment cause I have both... I would like to ask from the most recent one.

Hi! You know I applied for RPN February last year and until now I don't have the letter of eligibility. I am desperate too. We have no choice, only wait until they send it back.:nurse:

Hi all..

I got my PR a few months back. I applied for RN in Feb, 2011.. Once I got my Canadian PR, i updated CNO about my immigration status and asked the status of my RN application. I was told that the application is still in process.

Had a thought of applying for RPN in Feb 2012 and I did. There is no reply for that too.

When I read the forum thread, I realize that it took 4-5 months for most of the members. It is going to be 14 months since i applied. Have they increased the processing time recently? Is it advisable to call them again and ask to connect me to the assessor and query them? or How the other members with the same kind of situation approaching this long waiting time?

I am afraid to call CNO very often. Thought it would create an impression of annoy. Any suggestion?
