I think for a DNP program you would need a BSN. For an MSN there are some that don't require a BSN, just that you have prerequisites and a previous bachelors completed.

1). If your nursing degree is from abroad and you are licensed in NY, you need to be a little careful with NP schools from other states because you will need to be licensed in the state your school is registered. BONs have different requirements for "foreign grads" however long you are living and working here.
2). foreign MD may or may not be considered equal to US non-nursing Bachelor's. Mine was not accounted as one; nevertheless, all NP programs I researched were happy to see it and take courses as prerequisites.
3). If a program still wants only US BSN and nothing else, you may try to negociate about admission with the condition that you will take courses they want at the same place withing a set time period.
4). Ask if they have any additional requirements for students with foreign degrees. Some programs authomatically send everybody who was born abroad and doesn't have US degree (not license) for TOEFL or IELTS.
My situation is a bit different but I found that, as RNs with foreign MD diplomas are not common, the best way is to call program coordinators and speak with them directly.
