I have another question to ask I'm taking a test soon does anyone know where I can find review problems on finding a tablets per day with tid, bid, qid, q6h. I've been googling but nothing comes up. For example

1. The order is for aspirin 650 mg q 6 hours for pain. It comes as 325 mg tablets. How many tablets would be given per dose? How many tablets would be taken per day?

I know for this you'd do 650mg/325mg*1tab=2 per dose but how do you find per day?

these aren't hw problems I'm just reviewing for the test. I just need your feedback

I gave you a good site.........DosageHelp.com - Helping Nursing Students Learn Dosage Calculations

.If the dose is 2 tabs per dose and the order is every six hours you find the tabs per day....2 tabs/dose if it can be given every six hours how many doses can they receive in 24 hours? 24hrs/6 hrs=4doses x 2tabs=8 tabs/24hours

Specializes in Pedi.
4 so when I muliply 650*4=2600/325=8 per day?

You're making this way more complicated than it needs to be. You already know each dose is 2 tablets. If you take 2 tablets 4x/day, you take 8 tablets per day.
