Help me please

Published

:confused:At my school if you fail 2 of the pre-req's you can't apply to the nursing program until 5 years later. I'm doomed.

I was dumb and took both of them in the summer and didn't do so well and was afraid to drop them.

I'm about to take AnP1 again and I really need some advice. Help please?

Why did you do poorly in the summer? No one will be able to give you adequate advice until you tell us why you didn't do so well.

Was it the speed of the course?

Was it lab?

Was it lecture?

Was it work?

Was it your study habits? Did you not study enough, or were you not studying properly?

Did you go to class? Were you engaged in class? Did you do the reading before class?

How are you doing in other classes?

I can't answer those, only you can, but I can tell you that you need to figure out exactly what it was that kept you from getting the grade you needed. Once you figure that out, others will be able to give you advice on how to improve those areas.

What did you take over the summer? A&P 1 and 2?

A&P 1 and 2 over the summer is taught an an accelerated pace, you might not be able to handle this subject matter in such a compact format. You might fare better taking it over an entire academic year.

So you've already failed 2 pre-reqs? If thats the school policy then you might want to think about researching other schools and check out their repeat policy before applying. I agree that you might do better in a regular semester. I took A&P II over the summer, it was brutal. I did well but personally I would not recommend these short semesters. I am more at ease in the regular semester.

I would have never try to take A&P over the summer. This is a course that you will need for the rest of your nursing career and taking it in a compact summer session doesn't seem logical to me. Anyway, since the damage has been done try to research other schools in your area or write a note to admissions asking if you can take it again for the academic year.

My nursing advisor strongly suggested for me not to take A&P over the summer because of this same reason. There is just too much information and you will want to digest it slowly and really "get it."
