greetings, im new here so please take it easy on me,

* im an american citizen, and just graduated from the philippines, do i really have to take the philippines board exam in order to be able to take the nclex exam? i think they will not allow me to take phil boards because you have to be a filipino citizen..

thanks a lot!:D

forgot, im planning to take CALIFORNIA boards

Nope! You don't need to take the NLE. My friend who is also a US citizen who graduated in the philippines took the Nclex two months ago in CA without taking the NLE. Good luck! :)

Really?? Thanks a lot! I dont want to take because i dont really have a plan in practicing in pi

yes, shmaylay is right.. you don't need to pass the NLE if you're an american citizen.. california will just require you to have your SSN which i think you have since you're a citizen.. :)

Me too. I didn't take the NLE because I don't have a plan to practice there. Good thing NY BON doesn't require a SSN as I am not a citizen yet. I got my eligibility letter from them today and I will be scheduling to sit for Nclex very soon. You're right, methylorange. CA BON does require you to have a SSN.

Moved to the International forum,

As I mentioned in another post, check with the BRN as usually you need to provide something to say you can not sit the NLE
