HELP: licensed in saipan, need verification for visa screen

I'm a Filipino nurse and currently still in the Philippines, but I'm also licensed in Northern Marianas (also known as Saipan). I applied for a visa screen last year and (stupidly) declared that I'm also licensed in aformentioned US colony; the problem is I don't know how much I should pay the board to process my license verification and send it to CGFNS.

Last August, I sent them the form, along with a note saying that I have no idea how much I should be paying them to process it, so if they could please email or call me (I left my email and number) to let me know so I can send the necessary amount right away. NADA.

Now my application is going to expire in MAY, and I've emailed them, left them messages in their phone (because no one is answering, ***?) but I'm not getting any reply! This is frustrating, because I shelled out 300+ USD for the visa screen application, but if it expires, then it's just like I threw away that hundreds of dollars.

My question is -- do you have any advice on what else I should do? I'm thisclose to calling CGFNS and asking them as well, but I have a feeling they won't really care. And I'd like to ask my co-nurses first, just in case someone had a similar problem.

is there any other contact no. for the Saipan BOn office.. I would like to follow up my license renewal and verification. its been 6 mos since i mailed my app thru fedex and until now i havnt received any letter from their office. thnx!

The website is a work in progress. I even told the board member to kindly include the fees they charge for renewal, verification etc. Calling them is still not an option. I would suggest that you fax your inquiry instead. Good Luck to you!:wink2:

hey guys i just received my california license in the mail yesterday. yay!! well i guess saipan bon is not bad after all. they're just a little slow...

Hi guys! I sent my reapplication to saipan last august 2008 and until now I'm still waiting for my ATT. Any suggestions on how to contact them aside from their site (which is not working) and phone number? I really want to take the exam as soon as possible:( Please do help me with this. Thanks in advance!

did you send the appropriate fees? ask or message suzzane4 she knows a lot about this stuff. it shouldn't take that long, my verification for endorsement to california took about a month for them to send to sacramento. unless something was lacking with your application..and why would you take your nclex in saipan?? i thought nclex was already being offered in the philippines?? are you going to work there?? if not i suggest for you to go thru other bon's as you will have complicated problems with saipan bon once you need them in the future. i suggest if youre going to a specific city here in the u.s. just take the exam thru that particular bon. renewing/verifying etc of your exam/certificate will be easier in the future as they have a wroking website/email/phone/fax that you can easily get in touch with if you need them. i went thru saipan bon before coming here to the u.s. a few years ago, and i was worried that they will not process my verification for endrsement to california now that am thinking of moving there. it took them more than a month to do this, whereas it only took me a few minutes to verify my TN license and print the receipt and send it to california bon. btw my name's cesca and am a filipino nurse here working in nashville, well thinking of moving to cali, but because of the recession, i guess i'll be staying here for now..for the next few months or a year i guess..hope my advice help you...

Saipan is known to take their time

Hi cesca! Thanks for the reply:) actually, i already took nclex-rn exam last dec 2007 in manila. unfortunately, i failed the exam. I applied for a US license from BON-Saipan with the help of my review center. They're actually processing my papers for me. Back then it all happened so fast - the whole nclex process. I decided to re.apply with their help again because i'm currently working and find it a hassle if i file it myself. It has been Saipan's rule for retakers to be able to reapply 90 days after the failed exam. So I was only able to work on it last March 2008. My eligibility came about 4months after - I immediately paid hoping to take it last year. But until now - I received no reply:( I've been considering to apply in vermont but i've spent soo much on this one already.:( Still pretty much confused on what step to do.

Good for you that you're already in US. at least you're done with this whole ordeal:) best of luck to you there ces!:)

Hi, thank you for the info re: the fee of $40 and not $70 for verification of license in Saipan. In relation to this, to whom shall the money order be payable to? Is it CNMI Treasurer? It is quite frustrating to know that nurses who gets their license verified by Saipan BON are experiencing these very slow process. I am renewing my visascreen and it is only the Saipan BON that CGFNS/ICHP is waiting for. It worries me coz nobody answers their phone...and their website is work in progress. Please help!

Popotski, I'm happy for you that you got your license verified by Saipan BON already. Thanks for sharing your experience and thanks to all those who have responded to this thread.

I was licensed by the Saipan BON in Sept 2002 when I took my NCLEX there but am now inactive since I did not renew my license. Now, I am in the process of getting my license verified by Saipan BON for the renewal of my visascreen certificate. I sent ( thru certified mail) my request last Feb. 12, 2009 to their P.O. box address and they received it last Feb. 24 but I did not send any corresponding fees ( totally clueless until today that I joined allnurses). And I have been calling them like everyday at different times since last week(8-5 in Saipan) and left messages since nobody answers their phone. So now I am gonna send another request with the fee.

Now, my question is, for the $40 fee, to whom shall it be payable to? And how long did it take for you to get your license verified? A month?

Hoping to hear from all you guys!!! Thanks!
