Have you ever had a class that just seemed un-passable. I'm having a horrible time with Advanced Physiology. I start the RN program in January I don't want to have to re-take this class while I'm taking my nursing classes. I figure I'll have my hands full enough. I currently have a 4.0. I'm also taking Microbiology and everyone said that it was terribly hard. Well, I have an A in that class easy. However, in Adv Phys I'm struggling to keep a C (which I need to pass). It's the same teacher as last semester in ANP 102. I finished ANP 101 with a 103% and ANP 2 with a 102% (and that was during a short summer semester). With this class, though, I just keep doing worse and worse. 1st test was an 80, 2nd a 70, and 3rd a 66. I think I'll probably just get the C, but it's so frustrating to lose my 4.0. No matter how hard I study, the test questions don't even look recognizable. I've got 100% on the quizzes. Last semester it seemed like she was actually teaching, but now she just reads the powerpoints to us. The powerpoints aren't even hers. She's using last semesters from another professor. This is the 1st time she's ever taught this class. The other guy quit 2 weeks before the semester started! It'd be nice if she'd give a little extra credit work, or something, but she won't.
Should I go ahead and drop and try to re-take during the nursing program? I just hate to have a bad grade on my record, I've done so well up until know.
What should I do?

If it were me, I'd give it one more test if possible and then see where to go from there. If you don't do well on it, then I'd drop. It's not worth it to try to stick it out if you know for sure that you're not going to get the C you need.
Also, have you tried talking to your professor and asking for help? Sometimes that makes a big difference (and sometimes it doesn't, unfortunately )
Do you think you can handle taking this class with your Nursing classes if you drop it and have to take it later on?

I feel your pain. I had a 4.0 and then took College Algebra. I ended up dropping it twice in fear it would ruin my GPA. Finally took it over a summer term and got a B. I took the B and thanked the Lord that I got that. I wish you luck.

Are we in the same class????? I am taking ANP 201 now and it is killing my GPA as well. My scores in labs, quizzes and assignments are all A's, but the exams are another thing altogether! My best score so far is a 74. If I am lucky, I will eek out a very low borderline B, but I am not hopeful. It is *nothing* like 101 or 102, a totally different animal so to speak.
My 4.0 will drop after this, but I tell myself I will be through it and can continue on. I think it says something when there is a 4.0 student who maintained that 4.0 through the entire PN program and can't pull a solid B in physio.
***HUGS*** I know what you are going through!
