Help - copy of clinical rotation schedule

Published

so i submitted my repeat/reapply application to CA BRN only to find out that they are asking another requirement from me..

- a copy of your clinical rotation schedule for all cases: assisted/actual deliveries, cord dressing and major/minor surgeries.

that is the exact wordings on the letter.. i am positive that i submitted all the necessary requirements and was even made eligible before by the board to take the exam but why are they asking for this now..?

am getting frustrated and stressed out about this.. what do they exactly mean by this..? are these the cases that we have to complete upon graduation to take the NLE in the philippines..?

i didn't take my local board back home because my visa was about to expire and i know for a fact that it is not necessary to take the CA NCLEX..

please help.. thank you :(

Omg!!! I got my letter today and I need to enroll for the med surg and ob..

This is very ridiculous.. Same thing happen to my repeat application.. But mine they want me to do the med surg and ob.. I don't know what to do now.. I'm very confused about this new rules.. ????

hi im a bsn graduate last 2009 in phils (our school is accredited). then i took dec nle 2009 and dec 2010. sad to say i failed twice. so presently im now migrated here on california last sept. 2011 (immigrant status) and im planning to take nclex rn regarding to to ca bon, it says there to pass a letter for those not holding a license (nle passer)

my question is, what i should put to my letter or my reason. do i have to write that i failed twice or should i make another reason why i didnt take nle in phils?

please help me. i dont know what to do.

thanks. godspeed.

--------if i were you i would be honest; that you took the test but did not pass, and now you are in california as an immigrant and plans on living here. honesty works and besides you don't want to be caught lying then that would definitely gets you out of the running from the brn ca's eyes for good. good luck

Does it take 30 days more or less for the BRN to reevaluate my application and for me to receive the mail? It's already 3 weeks now, I'm getting anxious. I hope the BRN can consider our reapplication. We reached their minimum requirement in regard to units (actually a friend of mine,a fil RN practitioner here in US, told me that in comparison we have more units than the other students studying here in cali) that is what's important. =)

While it is true the Philippine RN BSN curriculum have more units/hours compared to the US( mostly associate degree ), the evaluators does not only look and compares between the number of hours but importantly the quality of the education. sad to say, the Philippine educational system in general, does not have the reputation of excellence.

if philippines does not have a reputation of excellence then why does the federal aid gives money/ student loan for an immigrant/citizen to study in the philippines? i guess before you say anything please do some actual research based on the government's funding.

i should know coz i tried applying before studying in the philippines. and you should also see my American classmates studying abroad on a loan and fed aid.

additional information, most employees here in the US in the professional field are in fact Filipinos. Im proud to tell you that my dad is one of them. And I can also name more people who are expats of the US company here.

sorry if i sound harsh but it is just the truth. nobody wants to spend something on a garbage that will not be put into use. its all about business and personal gains.

try to to read all the posts here regarding why the CA BON denied the application of some Philippine Gaduates:

1)deficiency in Hours..

2?the concurrent thing(theory and clinical should be done in the same semester)..so meaning the evaluators are looking and basing their evaluations on these 2 things..

So what is the connection of you saying that quality of education in our country does not have reputation of excellence??Dont you know that many Phil.Grads.are now nurses working here in the US...and in other fields too..Your entitled to your opinion but you need to understand the facts first before posting something..Thank you..

better also ask ur school to provide the clinical rotation including the hospital name, date of rotation, name of clinical instructor, no of hours, and area. that was what my evaluator asked me to do after i submitted the PRC cases that i had before. he told me on the other letter that clinical rotation was the area, etc not the PRC cases since we are not applying for NLE but rather NCLEX.

the PRC cases that we had was not really what they are looking for but the actual duties that we had in those areas.

if u still kept ur rle book like i did, better send it to ur school when u ask them for the copy of ur clinical rotations. my school is not really good at safe keeping records thats y i learned to keep a copy of everything that they give me. :( it took my school 3mons trying to figure out my clinical rotation and i made them tell the truth wats keeping them long, and they told me that some of my rotations were not encoded in the computer and some of the files are already corrupted.it would have had saved me time and the dean's secretary if id given the rle book beforehand.

hope this helps.

what i talked before was the RLE document- which i believe is the schedule of our clinical duties from ncm 100-105.

the analyst that i have had told me that the PRC form is not what they wanted for the PRC cases. The clinical cases should come from our school directly and have our clinical instructor's signature. i just learned this is different because he asked me for the clinical cases that we had. if we had more than 5 cases in the procedure we must also include it.

-----I am a filipino, came to the America young, lives in the US, got a degree in the US ( pyschology ) and philippines( nursing ) and I am basing my answer on not only my personal experience but also on other facts:Not on emotion nor pride. because I am proud to be a filipino.

Number one fact:, if our educational system is considered to have any value, why is it that anywhere else doesnt not give our degree an iota of value?

fact number two; if our educational system is "excellent" why is our education obtained in our country is not given any worth?

fact number 3: And if our philippine education has value, worth or of excellence in foreign countries why is it that despite our being "educated' and "excellent" ---filipino nurses, teachers, lawyers, and doctors are working as caregiivers, janitors, and other menial workers.

the truth is the education we have obtained in the philippines are only valued in the Philippines---with few exceptions such as nurses who have to jumped hoops to be recognize in other countries. Go anywhere else outside of the Philippines rarely will you find and be recognize that the Philippines having excellent education.

We're getting out of topic here, please focus on the issue on new re-application requirements for NCLEX.

Yes, this is very frustrating to all of us. =/ I'm also going through the same thing sadly. I'm still trying to figure out what to do.Still looking for schools.

ur facts are somewhat misleading. of course our lawyers wouldnt be lawyers here or anywhere else in the world, Phil law is different in any other part of the world. it is only applicable in the phil. if our education is not valued then there will be no other skilled/professional filipinos in every part of the world. people work themselves to achieve high and to watever makes them happy. they are the ones who choose wat work they would like to do.

my final comment to you is, why in the first place study in the phil if u dont have a single belief in the system? you are not the only one who grew up here in the states and studied abroad.

no offense but before studying in the phil, did u research what school you will go to? If you had only looked to what school does CHED and the American state colleges actually recognize here in the US or other countries before enrolling?

did u find a school that they accept federal aids/ state loans? did u find school that has an affiliation in state colleges/universities here in the state? did u look if there are student exchange program in the university/college in the phil?

say something if u actually have the concrete facts that will cover the entire education in the phil and say such words against to the quality of education in the phil. it would be ur own fault if u did still continue studying in one of the university/college in the phil that is not up to ur standard or maybe it was ur professor that lacks that knowledge that you are looking for. u cud have had talk to ur dean or CHED to have ur prof and school to be re-evaluated. dont blame the entire institution if only one has the problem.

got to my senses yesterday and the only thing that we-re-applicants- can do for now is provide whatever the state board is asking is to submit to them. thats the only thing that we can do. its up to them if they will grant, reject our application, or have us re-enroll whether for RN or masters here in the states.

if we are given a choice between applying for an LVN or to continue education(taking masters degree) it will be up to us. If you also thought of applying to another state, most state boards are asking if we had been rejected or applied to another state. we have to decide firmly before applying.
