Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been a nurse in LTC for 10 yrs. I have worked my current job for 2yrs and love where I work. I work mostly NOC shift but have worked other shifts, but I have found that NOCs works better for me and my family. We just had our survey a few weeks back and only had one issue with a med pass on the PM shift. All I know is the nurse made several errors and is being retrained. I work with a lot of hospice residents, rehab residents, wound care, and g-tubes. When full, its 60 residents I care for during the NOC shift (with 2 aides) so things can be busy. I really do not have any major complaints about my job…I mean somethings will never change..short staff…pm nurses passing things on (things that they should have done). Its almost too good to be true kind of job…lol
