Hello everyone,
I am new here and in need of informations. If there is anyone kind enough to help me,I will appreciate it.
My children are now older and I have decided to study nursing and once finished I want to relocate to the US.
I have found out through immigration website that the visas are for general nurses, but I think they don't have general nursing studies anymore in UK.Is it true?
What nursing studies do I need to do in order to be considered for visa?I wanted to study Children nursing, but I then read somewhere that in order to be considered for a visa I would have to study Adult nursing.
I don't know anymore.....I am a bit confused,but I want make sure I choose the right branch.
Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the site
If you are looking at nursing and also moving to the US then you need to arrange with your university to do study both practical and theory in all areas (paeds, midwifery, mental health and adult) better actually to do the adult course. They may be a bit funny about it but keep at it and persist. Once you have completed your studies that is then the time to look at what is required to move to the US
Hope this helps
Thank you Dragon,
I will follow your advice. Can't wait to start, even tho I know it will be a challenge.
Hopefully I will make it and become a nurse.

Good luck - the road to the USA is very difficult - just check out the threads & stickies here - sure you don't want Australia?? They accept your training as it is! :-)
However, if you're among very stubborn people here (including me) then you will need patience in abundance! Especially considering that you have yet to start your training.
I agree with SD - I usually do! Try & ensure that you clock up hours in paeds, maternity & psychiatry while still in university. I too think the adult branch would be the best bet overall though.
Good luck to you -keep us all posted!
Thank you RGN1,
this is my life dream to be a nurse.I also want to work in USA,as I have already friends living there and they love it.I know it is going to be a difficult one to achieve but hopefully I will get there in the end.
Yes I am a stubborn woman as well, hopefully my tenacity will lead me to my dream.
Thank you for informations.
I will definitely keep you posted.
