Heartbroken

I'm so sad. Just found out one of my sweet little special ed kiddos was bullied very badly yesterday. :( Why do kids (and adults for that matter) have to be so mean to each other? Why not just get along?

Oh this breaks my heart! It sickens me when I see bullying, and I may overstep my boundaries...but if I walk by and kids are teasing and the teacher is saying nothing, I step in! My special ed and special needs kids are like my babies! For the most part our students are pretty good about being nice to one another.

This whole bullying has gotten out of control. When we grew up, it was pick on someone your own size.....the bullyer(sp) is probably chicken and felt so powerful against the lil' one, he needs to be suspended and both kid and parents should be forced into classes on kindness

There are going to be big consequences for the kids who did this. The police officer for this area is talking to the kids and parents, the kids are suspended...they will not soon forget this. There were several kids involved, both boys and girls. I cannot fathom what they were thinking.

The special ed kid who was bullied has growth issues as well as mild autism and other issues. She is so tiny there is no way she could have defended herself. They tell me after the initial incident (she was locked in a bathroom stall, then hit with tennis balls and rackets after that), she hid in the janitor's closet to keep herself safe. I am devastated for her.

i've been surprised since coming to this school about the level of bullying. Kids that I was surprised to see were being bullied (kids that are the "cool kids" getting bullied). What surprises me more is the parent's reactions. The aggressor's parents usually don't care - and that is why these kids are bullies. Attention seeking behavior at its worst.

POOR THING!!! It would be so hard for me not to have a talking to with kids!!!!!!!

This makes me sick. It's just very very sad.

I see a lot of lack of supervision by AND a lot of bullying between the adults in campus' I have been to. What can we expect, when we set such bad examples ourselves?
