Part IV
This is the thread where members come to share their journey to wellness and wholeness.
It's a holistic thread, talking about all apects of health, not just diet and exercise, but the mind and spirit as well. All posters are welcome (not just Premium Members) and encouraged on a periodic basis to share what you're doing, what you need to do and how you're going to do it, and what you know!
I've been hiding out so I won't have to be accountable. Since I can't hide from myself, that hasn't been all that successful .
Now that the weather is warming up, I've been trying to walk more places. I suspect I have a nasty case of plantar fasciitis and a couple of bone spurs, so walking hasn't been that appealing.
I've missed you guys and it's good to be back . :loveya::icon_hug: and :kiss to all of youse.
You are inspiring me! Have been talking all winter about getting a new bike(had to leave the old one behind when we moved, no more room in the truck at the end...). We will have a bike path near our new house in a couple weeks. Am penning in 'buy a bike' on my lengthy to-do list for the next few weeks, lol! And you are right, we are all doing the best we can!Hi Blue,
At this point I think we all need to know that we are okay. There are too many occassions in nursing that we end up being challenged for our knowledge or abilities.
We do the best we can at the moment we have.

It's good to see you hiker. {{{hugs}}}}
My endurance for my walks is getting better--bit by bit.
If I could just start getting this I would be happy. I am so weak and wussy and what I eat just doesn't help either. But I am amazed at how quickly I get worn out and out of breath.

When Muffie got one she was riding all over the place! Speaking of inspiring. I miss our Muffie, I don't know why she stopped coming to AN! Pout

I hear ya. Every time I post here I skulk in and skulk out.
(((((((((( hiker ))))))))
Zoe, you can do this. It's just one step at a time. Each second, minute, and hour are new. You can start all over every single minute. Eventually the minutes will increase to an hour and so on. I adhere to this thought process because, I get off target so very often. I just keep on trying.
Please, feel free not to skulk. As mentioned before, the thread title is Healthier Living. I am betting that many of us are definitely living healthier in different areas of our lives:
spiritually -- more contact/time with God
emotionally -- more careful with ourselves and others around us
physically -- learning how to get more sleep
using boundaries to own our own problems and not everyone elses . . .
Surely, the list could go on . . . .
Sooooo, chin up, booty off the couch, remove skulking please. Journaling all of your past accomplishments toward healthier living will help also.

Nice to hear from everyone! Keep on keeping on and get up off that butt!
But it's such a nice big soft one. . .
Zoe, when I haven't been active for a while, the first month is pretty, um, unpleasant, but after that, I seem to turn a corner and it actually ends up being fun(ish ). You're doing great! And you can't be wussy if you're a nurse, right? We're tough! Hey, wanna do a virtual walk? We'll each do something and report back. I was going to stay in today, but for you, I'll make an effort
.
Heya Gentle :).
Blue, I can picture you on a bike with all that hair standing up in the wind . You'll have to find an avi to match :).
Well, today you can do something fun and active on your day off, Tweety! No time like the present. I'm going on a walk this morning then I'll be doing yarkwork all day.
I weighed myself yesterday and I have lost 7 lbs since Feburary! I'm feeling leaner and fitter! My goal is to lose 10 more pounds in the next year.
