We did too - mum kicked us out alll the time! lol - I think that's why I'm a "house mouse" today

Heh, my mom had a baby every year for several years running and I think she did the same thing just to keep her sanity :)

Zoe, Tweety and Blue--thanks for the info. That helps and I'm definitely going to look up Covert Bailey. See, you guys know everything

I did five miles at the gym today and 40 minutes of a strength training video--it's a great DVD.

I sure hope your bathroom gets done soon, Blue. A gal's gotta have water. Although, maybe it's a good excuse to not do laundry???

Sarah, sorry about your roofs (rooves?). It's amazing how strong nature can be and easy to forget when it's calm.

Cas, feel better. A sore back can throw everything off :(

Hiker, my mom had lots of kids back to back too, and I think that's why she would kick us out. AND my theory on why she had so many was so us older ones would take care of the younger ones! As to my mother's sanity ... welllll let's not go there LOL!

But she did get to have a life after we all left home, she got her Bachelor's and Master's, and then taught for 20 years (special needs). How she still had a brain after all those kids I'll never know!

Congrats on your exercising! I picked up a big ole pair of running shorts today and I AM going to get going!

Go Zoe Go!!!! Always cheering you on!

I went to the gym, did 40 minutes of aerobics and some weights. Mowed the lawn, and walked the dogs. So I was pretty active. :)

Hi everyone!

Tweety - don't you just love those days you get to do so much?

Sarah - SOOO sorry about all your wind damage!!! Our winds are howling now (35 mph right now, gusts to 60, dust city!). It will be a couple of days before it settles down enough to check our roof.

Zoe - Taps! HA!

Cas - how's your back coming along?

Hiker - They would turn the water back on just long enough for me to catch up on laundry and cleaning, squeeze in a couple days of showers and then the next 'incident' would happen. Just as well, I hate going to the laundromat!

Bathroom Saga update - THE TOILET IS INSTALLED! It has left it's storage area (the bath tub) and is installed. No evidence of leaking yet. I keep flushing it every so often to check. After the last 2 repairs, I won't feel confident it isn't going to leak at all for at least a couple of day. Meanwhile, I have that tub and shower back in service, at least.

Hi to everyone I missed. Long day at work scheduled for tomorrow (16 hrs).

Later!

Blue, hopefully the "saga of the toilet" is now over.

I'm doing well. I had well yesterday at work, which is where I usually fall. I walked the dogs briskly before bed. I slept well too for a change. :)

Hi guys - thanks!!! Blue, hope your roof faired well, I wonder if it was our storm working it's way toward you? Luckily, it is supposed to be pretty here today and I sure am ready for it!!

Hi everybody!

Well, yesterday I was really proud of myself. I had a Nurse/Family partnership meeting (I love actually being allowed in this one since I am working toward being a nurse :D) where these ladies all bring really good food and I ate a bunch of veggies before I went, so I actually ate very little when I was there. I had a salad with some of the creamed soup they made poured over top of it and skipped the cake. Yeay!

Despite the cold, I walked my son to pre-school today (it was his idea actually - what a good kid), so I got in some exercise this morning. Think I'll walk when I go to pick him up too. We're going to have lunch together here at the office and I promised him pizza because he's been so good, but I already have a plan: gonna get a pan pizza so he can eat what he wants and I will get a piece without over-indulging. ;)

Have a great day everybody!

Thanks Zoe!!!

I had my piece of pizza with my little guy and it was great. The really amazing part was, I felt full after I ate it - yeay!!! I must be doing something right - WooHoo!!! :D

Good job Sarah!

I had a big peace of chocolate cake a coworker brought in...it was good. Oh well. I'm having a salad, beans and brown rice for supper. :)

Hi guys!

Super busy at work yesterday, and I forgot my lunch at home. Ended up indulging in a burger and fries. Decided if I was going to break my healthy eating pattern, I was going to at least enjoy it and get back on the wagon after. Ditch the guilt and get over it. I will say it was quite tasty! Was good the rest of the day.

I am holding my breath still, but am thinking the bathroom saga is finally over. Toilet has been in for 2 days and no evidence of leaks yet!

Gotta run - need to get to work and my brother is coming in from out of town today, only here for a little over 24 hours before he heads home.

Blue, that's not a bad way to go. When I ditch the diet, I do the same thing. You've done a good job ditching the guilt. So many times people are so guilt ridden they throw all healthy eating out the window, instead of letting it just the one meal.

I'm off to the gym here in a few. :)

Good morning everyone. I have been on an end of winter, Lenten clean up my act health program here and thought I should join this thread. I have cut out beer and wine, fatty foods, and snacks. I've lost 4 pounds towards my 10 pound goal. I am also running 3-4 miles a day. My daughter wanted to give up eating meat for Lent, so we are also doing that with her.

Yesterday I arrived at work with fresh carrot juice and spirulina for my breakfast, which of course became the subject of many humorous comments. So, I put it in a graduated cilender and pretended I was drinking some sort of gross bilous bodily fluid. I don't think I will live it down so I might as well do the same today.
