tuesdayanother healthier lived day
yeah!!!!!
Hi Muffie!
Have a cold today and what better place to whine about it? LOL
Let's see, oatmeal and a glass of milk for bk, lunch was a low fat/low salt ham and swiss (low fat too) on spelt bread (new thing I thought I'd try - not too wonderful but probably better than some "wheat" breads...) with mayo (less than usual), tomato, lettuce. Same at dinner with a salad as well. Activity, not much, just work - was going to do QOD pilates but I can't breathe laying down with this cold (that's my excuse)
Anyone follow glycemic index to help with wt loss?
I'm up to 6 #'s off the ol' bod. Scrubs are fitting a bit better. It gets bad when your scrubs are too snug!!! No exercise for me today. Yesterday morning while stumbling about at Curves, I tripped and fell and my left seat bone connected firmly and dead on with one of the metal corners on the base of one of the machines. I am currently sitting on an ice pack as I type. MAN that stung! No visual damage (yea, that was a sight in the mirror...) but sore. I was soooo embarassed. Pat on the back for me, I did finish my workout yesteray. CPR class this afternoon will be the most activity I get today.
Zoe - sorry you have the bug. Hope it passes quickly. Yes on the glycemic index thing. Basically I think that's what South Beach is all about. 2 weeks of protein and veggies to kick start your metabolism into weight loss, then the carbs you reintroduce after 2 weeks are all low G.I. foods (whole grains, etc.). I have a friend who is doing Nutrisystem and that's their big thing now too, only they do all the food prep for you. She says it's not bad and it's helping her out, tho is a bit pricey on top of her family food budget.
Have a good day everyone!!!

I'm sorry about your boo boo! lol on the sight in the mirror! :monkeydance:
have fun at CPR - Do they still change the procedure every year? I am overdue for mine...
It's just me living here, so my food budget is my own - I am NOT very good at food planning OR budgeting, so maybe I should look into Nutrasystem. What I REALLY need is a big bad mama standing over me and guarding the kitchen - even tho I don't have the "bad" stuff in the house anymore I still gravitate to the kitchen at nite.
Cold is a bit worse but many people are having theirs for a few weeks or more. I don't plan on having mine for that long!!!
God bless, have a great day all!
ha ha!Seriously tho, I have never heard of that class, perhaps it went by another name when I was younger, like "HAAAALP!" perhaps? What is it?
It's ICU stuff; vents, stuff like that. . . But I have to admit "HAAAALP" is feeling like a very accurate description, LOL.
Ummmm, did you mean to say "behind"?
Hee hee, unfortunately it was just as bad from the front--and in no way would you want to approach from a side view Somehow it accentuated rolls you didn't even have . . . never mind the ones you do have!
Now if I could only have left my behind behind
Muffie--that oatmeal combo sounds good. I'm feeling kind of punky (I'm afraid I'm coming down with the throw-up stuff the baby's had) and that sounds soothing for dinner. I'm going to give it a whirl tonight. I'll let the kids make their own mac and cheese .
Oh Blue--which is worse, getting hurt or doing it in front of a group (maybe seeing yourself in the mirror was as bad as it got). I hope the ice is helping. Good for you for finishing your workout :).
I spent an hour at the gym "running" five miles on the elliptical machine yesterday. Kind of sore this morning, but I loooove that feeling. I don't have much luck with diets; I'm envious of people who can lose weight that way. I feel so deprived that I end up "finding" the candy I've hidden so I won't eat it. If I get enough sleep and enough exercise, I can usually manage the amount I eat, but with school, work, kids, it's not working for me now .
I can't wait until the weather warms up (single digits, when we're lucky) and the snow melts enough to get back up into the mountains and stop breathing city air . . . And then it will be too hot, LOL.

There's a joke about a kid asking his mom, "Mommy, why are you getting so fat?"
She says, "Because I have a baby in my tummy".
So he asks her, "Well, why is your BUTT getting so big??"
I had a kid ask me this summer (a 4-ish year old so I didn't kill her...) when my baby was due, lol...
I just noticed I'm in the running for the longest string of posts in a row here . . .
That's funny that you mention that. I will be posting along and suddenly realize, almost a whole page of zoeboboeyzoeboboeyzoeboboeyzoeboboeyzoeboboeyzoeboboeyzoeboboeyzoeboboeyzoeboboeyzoeboboeyzoeboboeyzoeboboey
