Have you ever had a healthcare-related dream that left you saying, "what in the actual ****?!" when you awakened?
Last night, I was a dialysis whore. There was an underground "society" of dialysis patients and normal kidney function people. The normal kidney function patients would sell their time and their blood. I was a normal kidney function person, and I had had an AV fistula placed by some "underground" surgeon. "Regulars" would pay $60-80/hour to get dialyzed. Non-regulars would pay $75-125/hour. It was my first night dialysis whoring, and this girl I knew in junior high was walking me through the basic stuff to know and protect myself. And somehow I was able to dialyzed multiple people in one night. My hubs was supportive of it, knowing we needed it. My parents didn't, though.
Dude. For real. What the ****?!
You have any cray cray in your dreams?
Now I am laughing out loud. The kid on the health mat asks "What's so funny?"Nothin' kid...mind yer biness
Yeah, my son walks into the kitchen on a regular basis (he is having a growth spurt and eating all the time) and finds me laughing and wonders why. Nothin honey . . . go eat your Lucky Charms.
That could actually happen.
Some dreams are based on truth.
This is my favorite video - love her backup singers!!
I can't remember any super off-the-wall dreams about nursing but when I was working in the hospital I had dreams where I worked like 9 hours into my shift before realizing I had a patient I hadn't seen, assessed or medicated. It was awful and I had dreams like this almost monthly.
EDIT: OMG wait yes I did have a weirdo nurse dream! A few months ago I dreamed that I had a shift at the hospital the next day but for some reason thought it was totally acceptable to fly to Amsterdam the day before. So here I am, wearing wooden clogs in a field of tulips with my Dutch friend from college and a bunch of coworkers and I started freaking out that I had to go to work. We were miles from the airport so my Dutch friend gave me a bicycle and said "you have plenty of time! Just ride a bike home!" and we all accepted this as a great idea.

Old Bay!!!!! I feel like I NEVER see you here! Hi!
I dreamed up a good one last night, likely inspired by the telling the surgeon about storms being a sex dream comment. (Thanks for that, btw. [emoji23])
So I was on NOC, and the rudest cardiologist was on call. He came in for a STEMI, I presume, and was dictating notes in our dictation room. Our eyes met from across the room and it was all kinds of electric. Each time our paths crossed, we shared a quiet flirtation if others were around. It was steamy.
Thank Gawds I woke up before it went further than that. This guy is an arrogant jerk who thinks it's perfectly acceptable to yell at nurses for things that are not the nurses' fault. And no, he's not attractive. [emoji23]
