Good morning all. I was wondering if anyone has the insurance that HFCC offers and if so how much do you pay. I also need to find out if there's any other reasonable priced insurance that I could look into. I need insurance asap. I have to have proof of insurance by Aug 13th. Any and all responses are welcome. Thanks in advance

Are you under the age of 30? A good plan if you are just looking for major medical is the Young Adult Blue plan with Blue Cross/Blue Shield. http://www.bcbsm.com/myblue/plan_youngadultblue.shtml
I had this a couple years ago when I was between running out of time on my parent's insurance and getting insurance through my employer. It was around $50/month.

Hey, I agree...I've got the Young Adult Blue plan and I pay only $47 a month which isn't that bad...I have all of the paperwork turned in to the nsg office already... I cannot wait to start the program this fall...tifflat19 what section did you choose? Maybe we will be in the same classes:) Good luck to you.

I have the same plan. It seems alright.
Hi eluska22. I'm in section 4. It was the only section they had left. But hey, I'll take what I can get. What section are you in? I don't think I'll qualify for the Young Adult Blue Plan because i'm a tad bit over 30. I'm still looking though.

Did you go to the schools information desk? I got some sort of thing through the school. It was the cheapest one they had. I know it is a little more pricey if you are over the age of 26 I believe. I was almost 25 when I started though. I don't remember what it was called though. It was crap insurance...like only if something bad happened to you. But it worked for HFCC. I'm just waiting for a nursing job so I can get real insurance! Yay! Ha
tifflat19...Im in section 1...I got there early and got what I wanted:) Good luck to you and relax before the semester starts:) Maybe see you Aug.13th?:) Did they give you all of the insurance info? That's how I picked mine, only Young Adult Blue seemed reasonable. But if you cannot get this plan you can choose many others from the info that they give. Good luck!

There's also United Healthcare which offers decently priced basic insurance. AAA has a student health insurance for those under 25 I think. Hope that helps!
