Anyone out there know if they are applying for the 2017 Nursing program for HCC (Hillsborough Community College)? I am! Just realized I want to do this so I'm taking A&P 1 and 2, microbiology, and sociology this summer. Apparently its called the crazy train! Anyone else doing something similar?
Thanks AlyssaRae22 I see that I paid the 53.00 with the bursar before submitting my application and just put the receipt with my application. I'm just waiting for everything to be updated so hopefully it will be soon just so anxious. Glad to hear that Bellalinda now we can all take deep breaths and just relax until October lol well atleast try it's gonna move slow since we are so hype about everything but we're all waiting together!
Hey. Well I did not pay through the bursar and my 53.00 is showing.
No worries you should see something soon probably Monday. I think the cool thing is that since they recieved my application they have the option where it says progress towards degree req it has the nursing applicant option and I click on it and it says estimated completion day as of 09/20/2016 hopefully that means acceptance letters will be going out around that time.
Hi everyone. I put in my application last month and now am playing the waiting game with all of you. I took the TEAS on a whim and passed with a 60.7, so I chose to not retake it. My advisor said don't bother. I have been working my butt off since January taking all the prereqs in six week intervals to get it all done. I am sitting pretty good in that department, I squeaked out a 4.0 by the skin of my teeth. I know this whole process is stressful, we have it drilled in our heads 4.0..... so I just wanted to share some information.....
I saw the roster of the last group of applicants. Your prereq GPA is how you are placed on the list (literally only eight 4.0, out of hundreds of applicants). Those with the same GPA then get sublisted by their overall GPA, for those that are tied it then goes to your TEAS exam. There were several students with a 2.8 selected as primary attendees for the program as well as tons of 2.8 for alternates (which tons of alternates got in). They will not select any people below 2.8. If you have a 2.8 it really kind of boils down to how many above you with a higher GPA or tie breaker higher than yours. Some of the people on the selectee roster barely passed the TEAS. Some that were not selected got 90's on the TEAS. It varies, like crazy. The way it was explained about your campus is the higher the GPA the better chance you have of getting your campus of choice. All the training is the same, your clinical hospital depends on the campus.
We have all worked our butts off for this, good things are going to come.....
