Anyone out there know if they are applying for the 2017 Nursing program for HCC (Hillsborough Community College)? I am! Just realized I want to do this so I'm taking A&P 1 and 2, microbiology, and sociology this summer. Apparently its called the crazy train! Anyone else doing something similar?
I put all my eggs in one basket I mean I am basically in Galen if I transfer all my credits but I rather not be in so much debit after school so I will see how Hcc plays out first.
What did you think of Galen? That's my alternate choice but I hope for HCC because it's right around the corner from my house.
I was just gonna ask if anyone else had this on their documents. I'm not sure what it means either. Anyone?
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that had these same thoughts. The two that say under review/asap just mean you hadn't been evaluated completely yet. Mine just changed to review this morning.
I liked Galen the price is just expensive and I'm thinking of the long term. Yet if you have the money it is a good investment. My sister in law got her lpn and will be graduating in December with her RN she likes it and the classes are flexible for her so it just depends on your preference.
No worries you should see something soon probably Monday. I think the cool thing is that since they recieved my application they have the option where it says progress towards degree req it has the nursing applicant option and I click on it and it says estimated completion day as of 09/20/2016 hopefully that means acceptance letters will be going out around that time.
My estimated completion date is September 5th I highly doubt it I'll know by then lol wouldnt mind getting my acceptance early tho lol
I'll be curious how this all turns out for you guys! I might be moving in town and applying. I am already in a nursing program here in NC, but the military is having us move. I have a 3.7 in pre-reqs so I hope that's a competitive GPA. I haven't taken a TEAS bc we used another test for admissions.

I liked Galen too. The cost is pretty excessive, but if I don't get into HCC that's my next choice. I'm thinking I could get things done faster at Galen since I have all the prereqs and extra classes needed. When I toured over there they told me they won't adjust schedules each semester, so if you have the other classes you just take what's still in that semester to complete. That seems a little wasteful and money driven to me.
I made a closed group on Facebook, I was chatting with other applicants at lunch the other day. It seems we all have similiar questions, and we all have anxiety about this process. Just another way to communicate with each other. The group is HCCNursingSpring'17. Here is the link, if you want to be added. Log into Facebook | Facebook
Exactly they also don't accept 100% of your transfer credits so you end taking classes you already have taken over again. That's another thing my sister told me which is horrible because that is wasteful and my sister got her lpn and is finishing her RN and owes 60,000 in loans smh.
Wow, that is absurd. I already had to retake my Math because it was over six years, even though you have a a Bachelor's they don't care. That sucks starting out with such a huge debt, just to achieve your dreams.
I created a group in Facebook if you use FB. HCCNursingSpring'17 if you want to join it. It's a little easier to post in, I made it private because its where we flip out over all the anxiety of this process. Everyone is more than welcome.

"HCC waived" That's just saying that your transcript submission of HCC courses is waived because they see it in the system, so you don't have to formally submit one.
