HCC coleman Fall 2020

Published

Hi everyone, I am currently taking prereqs for the ADN program at HCC. I am almost done with my associate's so I can do a BSN program as well, but my focus is HCC. I know it's kind of early but are there any HCC fall 2020 future applicants? HCC's deadline is strange lol I have everything completed this Winter, but because the deadline for spring 2020 was August, I'm too late to apply.? It's ok though because things always happen for a reason! I just pray I get in! My ADN PROGRAM grades are as follow:

AP1: B

AP1LAB: A

AP2: C >.> ? NEEED TO RE-TAKE LOL

AP2 LAB: PENDING

MICROBIOLOGY: A

MICRO LAB: A

ENGL 1: A

HUMAN GROWTH: A

Psych: A

I have yet to take the HESI because I'm not done yet BUT my projected completion day will be around January.

I will update in spring 2020 when I am ready to submit the application! ?

Question: Do I HAVE to re-take AP2? I will if I have to though

I got my hep b and MMR shot done on 04/22, this was the first round. My second round is on 05/22. I still have to wait 4 weeks after 05/22 to get a titer done. I emailed --------------------- asking if I can get both done at the same time next time, but no response. Everyone I have talked to has said I need to Initially wait 4 weeks after my shots to get a tired. So I will not be able to submit by June 12. But I was hoping that if I talk to them and they see I’m in process of getting it done, it would be okay.

Normally no, but these aren’t normal times so I’d keep trying to contact her via email and phone calls.

She just messaged me this. I do not think they are being very helpful.

If you got the shot when you was a baby get the titer done and if it come back negative you will have to get the actual vaccine over and wait 4weeks so your body can produce antibodies against the specific vaccine. Then you will take the blood titer again to make sure the antibodies are present.
Hep B usually take the longest

I got immunizations done when I was little, I’m going to upload those and see if they take it

If you got the immunization when you were younger I think you should get the titer done now. If it comes back negative ask your physician if you can get the booster shot... it’s only 1 shot, then you’ll have to wait 4 weeks to get another titer done. if you do all these now you might be able to meet the deadline.

Do you think there will be an in person orientation this Summer? and class in person for fall or online still?

I went and got titers done for everything and got positive results. I doubt there is going to be an in person orientation because I know friends going to med school and their orientation is online. As for classes, I am not sure....

Good I’m so glad it worked out

Hello, I also applied to the Fall 2020 program. Did you guys receive an email from Wanda today about buying the drug test via Castle Branch? I’m confused. It states here in the pic below that once selected for the program, you have to submit a drug test. So does this mean I’ve been accepted? Or is this required for everyone who applied?

Anyone here applied to the lvn program?

Have you received anything about lvn program acceptance? Did you have to upload immunizations and do drug test also? @Jennifer Fields

Hi all,

Have any of you purchased your health insurance through edusure.com, which is listed on HCC's website? If so, what are your thoughts? If you purchased through a different website, do you recommend it? I noticed you have to purchase health insurance 1-2 months in advance in order to have coverage by July 2020. This is why I am attempting to do it now. Any and all advice is appreciated, thank you!
