HCC coleman Fall 2020

Published

Hi everyone, I am currently taking prereqs for the ADN program at HCC. I am almost done with my associate's so I can do a BSN program as well, but my focus is HCC. I know it's kind of early but are there any HCC fall 2020 future applicants? HCC's deadline is strange lol I have everything completed this Winter, but because the deadline for spring 2020 was August, I'm too late to apply.? It's ok though because things always happen for a reason! I just pray I get in! My ADN PROGRAM grades are as follow:

AP1: B

AP1LAB: A

AP2: C >.> ? NEEED TO RE-TAKE LOL

AP2 LAB: PENDING

MICROBIOLOGY: A

MICRO LAB: A

ENGL 1: A

HUMAN GROWTH: A

Psych: A

I have yet to take the HESI because I'm not done yet BUT my projected completion day will be around January.

I will update in spring 2020 when I am ready to submit the application! ?

Question: Do I HAVE to re-take AP2? I will if I have to though

@Vinod Samuel Were you able to join the Fall 2020 cohort and register for nursing courses after all?

On castlebranch on the checkliust is "Board of Nursing Clearance Card" how do I get that? and I don't have health insurance, does anyone recommend a affordable one

To anyone who applied twice to HCC before getting accepted:

When you applied the second time and got the instructions to go to castle branch to upload documents, did you have to buy the “medical document manager package“ again and start from scratch uploading documents? Or do we just use our castle branch account from the last time we applied?

I don’t want to assume they can access my old castle branch stuff and make a mistake so any insight is appreciated. Thanks and CONGRATS to everyone starting in Fall you all are going to do great!

Do you know how to submit the documentation of shots? I submitted mine I took from CVS but they went from "pending review" to incomplete

If you click on “incomplete” it should give the reason why it came back with that status and tell you what you need to do. Sometimes when you post something they review it and need something else so they out I”incomplete” and then list something else for you to do.

As far as your board of nursing clearance card goes, you need to wait on further instructions to get that done. Basically the school submits you’re name to the board of nursing, then the board of nursing emails you with instructions to go get fingerprinted. You then make an appointment to get fingerprinted and after that you simply wait for your card to come in the mail. But like I said don’t worry that you’re not doing something right for that one because you have to wait on further instructions which will eventually be emailed to you from HCC.

Hi, this is my 2nd time applying. I called Castlebranch and asked them to move over all my documents I uploaded for Fall 2020 and move them over to Spring 2021.

Also does anyone know if HCC takes accelerated Hepatitis-B vaccinations? Also does anyone know if I can submit that I took 1 or 2 shots of the three series, then take the third while im in the program? The three series will take 6 months where im taking it, and the deadline is November.

WOW!!, I applied to Hcc for Spring 2021 and I'm going through the exact same complications you all did. It's a shame how they make us do ALL these tasks BEFORE getting accepted. I applied at lone star got accepted as an alternate(03/2020) but they later decided not to accept any alternates to give those who were fully accepted a fair chance because of covid-19. Which was understandable but this process here is so confusing and unorganized. Im glad I found this forum. I was about to tell everyone I got accepted. Good thing I didn't ?

EDIT: application period ended Aug. 3rd I received my letter of intent on 08/17 it said I had to respond by 08/14...Very unorganized. How is that even possible? smh they need to do better

@MaleNurse1218

That is one of their criteria for getting accepted.. if I were you I would complete it as soon as possible and upload everything document within my reach. The blue card is important and one reason why others were denied for fall 2020 because the blue card was not updated on time which was no fault of theirs but Covid.

Thank you. I'm just about done just waiting for castle branch to approve my documents and of course waiting for the fingerprint email to come.
