For those of us who are now in the HCC ADN program!
Hope everyone did well the first semester; 4 more to go... ughhhhh!I got my Pedi books today at Majors. I bought all 3 books on the list. I don't even think they are all necessary but whatever I bought them anyway. Its a pretty small book compared to our Foundations book. I wonder why pedi is soo hard to begin with? BC of the 8 weeks? I hear about 25% pass! That is crazy.
How much were the pedi's book at Majors?
I am a little nervous just because the class is so intense. Peds is so much info all crammed in 8 weeks. Finals are on week 8 so its really 7 weeks!!!! BUT just stay focused, positive attitude (most importantly), and manage your time (I'd say hit the books every single day)- you will be fine. Simple as that. My friend worked during Peds and did just fine. :) I am excited and nervous!
I got the previous edition's books on Amazon. There is little difference between the two editions, and I got everything on the list for $100.
I've heard that a big part of Pedi is the childhood diseases which you're expected to know inside-out. I think keeping ahead of the reading is the best strategy. I'll start reading as soon as my books arrive.
I believe the registration slips will be available on Jan 12.
I hope you all enjoy your break :)
