HCC ADN Fall 2008 Applicants

Anyone applying to Houston Community College for the fall? I signed up today for the HESI. I am scheduled to take it on 3/29. If I do well, they will place me into the summer pharmacology course. I am a little nervous. I would love to hear from any students that are in the program. Any tips on the HESI & the Pharm. class would be helpful! :bugeyes: The thought of it... ahhh it boggles my mind! LOL

I got a 91 for the quizzes, but have set myself up to need a 94 tomorrow in order to scrape in with an A :chuckle

I don't know about you guys, but the last 10 weeks seem to have gone by very quickly...

For some reason with those stupid quizzes... i would always get real worked up! hahahah They made me real nervous.

I have a question, lets say I end up w/a 89.5.. would they round that up or what? Or keep it at an 89? If I make a 90 that would be my final grade. So to be safe I thought to shoot for a 92.

I remember Ms Grant being very explicit about there being no rounding of the final grade... so overshooting is a good idea. That would be painful if you were a tenth of a point under passing...

I've allowed myself 3 wrong answers tomorrow! Yikes!

They WILL round your grade. That's why Grant stated is all you need to pass is a 74.5 (which would round to a 75). All courses w/ RNSG prefix require 75 and above to be considered passing. So they'd also round an 89.5 to a 90, or an A.

It wouldn't be fair to round one student's grade and not another. If I end up with an 89.5 and it doesn't get rounded, I'll definitely be making a fuss.

I'm not aiming for a 75, though, LOL.

Yea, I know, but it's ok coz from what I can tell you have nothing to worry about anyway. Just stick to your original plan :)

that's so unfair! whatever your score is, if it's 74.5, 79.5, 89.5, etc! There is no real number that is half! it's either or, and if you have .5 it should be the NEXT ROUNDING NUMBER!! Basic Math knowledge! why they do that?
