Anyone applying to Houston Community College for the fall? I signed up today for the HESI. I am scheduled to take it on 3/29. If I do well, they will place me into the summer pharmacology course. I am a little nervous. I would love to hear from any students that are in the program. Any tips on the HESI & the Pharm. class would be helpful! The thought of it... ahhh it boggles my mind! LOL
Thanks!
Hi everyone..
So, I have not read all of the posts under this thread, but I have gathered that you are all nervous about "getting in" and when you will find out, etc..? Well, I just graduated from HCC in May and I can tell you honestly, that I did not find out that I got accepted until TWO days before classes started. My take is that they are overwhelmed, understaffed and SO many people are constantly calling for questions and concerns, that they just can't handle it. All I can say is be patient and wait it out. I know many people have kids/families and need to know now, but in reality, you probably won't find out until right before classes start. Hang in there!
Hope everyone had a great weekend :)
I have been slacking and plan on hitting the books tomorrow!!
Ms. Grant told us that letters have not gone out yet. I am not sure if this is just for her saturday class, but she said that the secretary had requested the FINAL grade before sending out any acceptance letters. SO... for my class we wont know until after the summer session is over. So the wait will continue with me.
Also, she said that 52 letters went out for the first group (for the 1st orientation) and that 12 of those students declined due to not having their HEP B series completed. So only 40 have been accepted so far. AND they will be accepting 180 students not 200. BUT there is still 140 slots left. Hope I helped
Txgirl thanks for the insider info! At least now I can stop freaking out when I'm at the mailbox. If they're waiting for the final grade I can see us having a few days between getting a letter and classes starting...
Thanks PediRN, it's good to know what to expect. I'm looking forward to organizing a physical and getting books/supplies/uniform sorted with 2 days notice :)

melissa,
I don't think it matters if your life span is over 5 years. Most school only care if you sciences are older than 5 years. If you were allowed to take HESI it means they looked over your transcripts right? So I'm guessing everything is ok.
Anyone have the 'jones to call and ask when we will know something? LOL, I don't. I'm so impatient.
