Anyone applying to Houston Community College for the fall? I signed up today for the HESI. I am scheduled to take it on 3/29. If I do well, they will place me into the summer pharmacology course. I am a little nervous. I would love to hear from any students that are in the program. Any tips on the HESI & the Pharm. class would be helpful! The thought of it... ahhh it boggles my mind! LOL
Thanks!
The test was really hard. The guy sitting next to me was like freaking out and moving in his chair and sighing. I always second guess myself but, I did really well. I got 90% and I almost wanted to do a dance.
I was also told that I will have to find someway to finance my education other than financial aid. So I guess private loans??
So they have sent out letters already? I haven't gotten anything...oh no...

Don't worry about it. All the students in PHARM still have to take one more test and the math test. Ms. Grant told our class that the secretary did already pull out files... and that doesnt apply to us just yet! Just keep getting A's and you will get in! Ms. Grant said that out of 250+ students only about 12 made A's so you are one of those :)
I got a 92%
:w00t:
Ok that's good news to hear. I would have been like ***** Our second test isn't until the 16th and the math test on the 23rd.
Now that the first test is over I know exactly what to study. I'm getting nervous even though I have an A. I look at the class stats and half the class is at least passing.
Mrs. Smith told my class today that for the past 4-5 years HCC has been able to accept ALL applicants who have all their pre-reqs done, all immunizations done and have passed pharm (with the passing grade of 75% and the math of 90%). She also said that they have been accepting around 180 students in the past and this year they are HOPING to accept atleast 200 students!!
That news REALLY made my day! B/c atleast she says that if you do pass pharm and have all the other stuff then you should be good to go!
Smilesalot, that's great that you already recieved your letter! you kinda of already knew, but I KNOW you're on cloud nine now that you have it in your hand! LOL!!!
Congrats!! and I REALLY hope to meet you and the rest of you guys soon this fall!!!!
FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

You still did good!!!!
And yeah the test questions are quite tricky but it does help you enhance your critical thinking skills which enables you to use the appropriate knowledge and skilled judgments in delivering patient care.
Good Luck on your next test;)!!
