I see on the admissions packet that HCC *strongly recommends* taking Bio 1406 before A&PI. How many of you took this and how many didn't and did just fine?
I haven't taken Bio in years and seeing this has me nervous that maybe I should take 1406 before A&PI??
I registered for the Fall Semester for A&PI.
Thanks
Angela

Ok, I took bio 1 and 2 but the majority of people in my class did not and most people did fine. I dont think you need it unless your very weak in science or sumtin.

I hadn't taken bio since high school (many years ago) and I did fine in A & P and Microbiology.

I took it early so that I would not have so much stress during the nursing classes. It turns out that I now have "Free" Fridays aka extra study time. I have classes from 7am-4pm so it will be very nice to sleep into 6:30am. So depending on how you study and how high your stress level is I if you want to take it now or later, Good luck Dusty

You don't need it. I went through A & P I, II and Micro at HCC and got A's in all three classes without having taken BIO. I am in nursing school right now, though at Cy Fair, and I have to tell you that the Science classes at HCC did not prepare me for what I need to know for my Med Surg classes. I am struggling some what because I did not learn the "basics" very well.
Thanks guys for all your replies :) Ok so the verdict is in then!!
I was thinking I'd be OK without it, but reading that it's *Strongly recommended* kind of threw me off.
Thanks again!
