I've been accepted in the LVN program at local community college. I've hit a few roadblocks and have had to clear so many hurdles to prepare for this. The past couple of months, I have had to remedy a background check with the BON nearly preventing me from entering the program (cleared that), deal with costly immunization updates, titers, etc., and NOW, my financial aid is suspended just two weeks before class begins, not to mention the summer course must be paid in full by next week! I'M HAVING A MELTDOWN! I get this uneasy feeling that I will lose my opportunity due to financial aid. I know its still the weekend, and come Monday I must sort this out. I am feeling a sense of loss. I have worked so hard to get to this point for it all to be swept away.

UPDATE! I have officially received comfirmation that my appeal was APPROVED!.. hawt dayummm! My endevours in the health profression is a GO! I am absolutely elated and could not be more pleased at this moment. My prayers have been answered. Thank You all for the support and nice comments I have received these past couple of days! I feel truly blessed! TY!

Congratulations pickled_tink!! I'm soooo happy for you! I took my TEAS test last week so I'm currently awaiting a response on acceptance into an RN program here in Milwaukee!! Wish me luck...I'm praying to God that I get accepted! This is a new career for me, coming from a Business/IT track, and I'm so excited about everything! Good luck with all of your future career and education endeavors!!!

Don't feel too bad. Even though I was accepted into VTC's LPN program for this coming fall (2011), I had to defer enrollment until next fall, due to too little financial aid. I have applied for TONS of scholarships and have not received anything.
I made the mistake of thinking that my hard work (4.0 the last 2 semesters - taking CHEMISTRY I&II), dedication (took a LNA course WHILE taking college courses), and come-back from a near-fatal car accident & surgery to fix my hip would HELP ME. Nope. Oh well. I have waited this long, I figure I can wait another year. I just hope that I can save up enough money from working as a LNA/CNA for next year.
