Have u got a call from O G P?

Published

Hi,

I am not with O G P, a U K based agency.

But, few freinds who are with OGP, all of them got a call/email from OGP saying retro will finish by April/May and need to be ready with all paper work...?? We have not seen any such movement. But, Y they said this? Is there any assurance they might have got from sourses in Washington DC..? Any clue..?

Have you got any calls/emails like this?

Rgds

Sorry, but there is no information that has been released about the retrogression and they definitely do not have any insider information. Think more that they are worried that the nurse will leave them for another agency.

This just means that they never completed the paperwork that OGP wanted, and nothing else. Once they have the information, then the contract has been signed and they are guaranteed money from the nurse.

Hang on, actually thats not what the email states at all

it says

'they are hoping for a positive outcome from the Hutchinson bill by April/May'

and

'that your file is frozen at the NVC, during that time they need to ensure the nurses file remains current in their database including skills checklist and references' it also refers to 'ensuring that the nurse has gathered all documents for the immigrant visa interview to ensure there are no further delays'

No mention of any contract, infact the contract would have already been signed at this stage i would imagine, for OGP to bother to email them. I think people should be careful about what they say in an open forum about companies, after all the USA is the land of litigation, which im sure you are all aware of.

One thing i would say is that most of the information they receive about retrogression does come from a reliable source, infact someone who wrote part of the last immigration bill, and is a lobbyist who is active in the retrogression procedings going on at present.

Personally we can speculate for months about retrogression the truth is no one knows when it will be lifted, they can only give you an opinion about when they feel it is likely to happen.

Dont get me wrong, Im not their greatest fan at all, however, i dont think its fair to comment on an email which hasnt been seen, nor speculate on their sources, especially as some people take whats written on this forum very seriously.

Yes i to received the letter from OGP and as English nurse said they are estimating retrogression will be lifted in April/may and all the information you supplied and paperwork has to be up to date. It asks you to ensure all required all paperwork be ready i.e police checks etc.

I actually received this letter a couple of days after i was told my job offer in the USA has been withdrawn by the hospital, and originally believed i was the only one to receive it. Also to point out when i did update my files i had to change addresses and phone numbers as i had moved house and OGP still had my old information on file so it is worth taking a look at your info and ensuring everything is up to date and correct.

may i add that the email means nothing to me at all as i have already got my visa, so they havent looked very carefully at who they sent it too, but saying that retrogression affects my husband so it does have some use lol

And I still stand by what I have written. Even if a bill passes, it will be 90 days before there are any visas available.................so it will be 90 days before the retrogression is lifted once something is approved by both and then gets signed off on. There are not going to be visas available in April, it not going to happen.

There were more than 25 nurses that had their I-140s denied last year as not everything was submitted properly and the agency blamed in on immigration when in actuality there had been no changes and the error occured on their part.

They also now have a $45,000 cancellation fee and require a guarantor to sign the contract. And even $8,000 if you cancel the contract before you even take an exam.

And the Hutchison bill is just one of many that are out there. And there will be many more to follow.

im not disputing that what im saying is the email didnt mention any contracts

well the one i got didnt it referred to immigration paperwork and skills checks, and it does say 'hopeful' about the situation being resolved by April/May, not that visas will be available

I think the changes in immigration you refer to are the ones when the sevice centres were changed?

like i said before im no fan of OGP but i know what the email said because I recieved one, i didnt mention I140's either so im unsure why that has been mentioned?

This is just basic information gathering on the part of OGP ... they are just keeping in touch with people so they don't loose contact with their RN's. There will be many people decide to change their minds and life issues come up. There are so many stories out there based on people speculating on when this retrogression will end, no one knows, and it will take as Suzanne said at least 90 days to get things ready to go after the announcements are made. OGP is just making efforts to keep in touch and keep their records up date.. that is all they are doing. I am no big fan of OGP too.

Just go back and see what has happened to people in the past and keep in mind many of the agencies are having a hard time right now. So I would really be cautious on who you sign with. If they behaved badly towards their RN's when things were good what will they do now???

Last year it was a very big issue, about a year ago this month that 25 nurses of theirs from the UK were denied the I-140 after waiting for more than one year for approval and it was blamed on new requirements of USCIS, but there were not any. That is why I brought it up.

Anything coming out of any agency is strictly speculation only, and there are no crystal balls on this. Each law firm has their own view on it, and many believe that they have the inside track, but there is no such thing.

Even when word does come out that things are going to open, it will be a solid three months before anything will start. This is how the US government does things, it is always 90 days from when a new visa is created, or that they are pulled from other areas, is always takes that long.

if you are suggesting that I review any contract before i sign it and are warning me how badly OGP treat their nurses then you havent read any of my previous posts on this forum....... its too late for me, and I really dont need advice about them Ive found out all about their shortcomings by myself

I agree it will be at least the summer before anyone goes anywhere, i think i have got the gist of how the USA does anything admin wise by now (slowly and not that accurately in my case :)) my arguement is that in the email I received it didnt say there would be visas available, nor did it mention the contract, I just think that people should be careful about stating, in public, things which are not accurate, for one its not fair on all the people who read this forum everyday, avidly waiting for news which doesnt come (because lets face it no one on here knows any more than anyone else about it all, although they can guess) and number 2, I personally would not like to be sued by a company which has more money than me and more powerful lawyers......

Can you all just relax. We get the 90 day thing ok, w e g e t i t... And the letter, OGP's just 'touching base' with their nurses. Relax.
