Have you taken a HESI exam?

I am a senior nursing students and my teachers are speculating about giving us a HESi exam for our final. Will the CD with practice questions be the same questions that we will get on the final? Nobody bought the book yet because the teachers are "unsure" about whether we are taking the final. I have the book and the CD will the practice problems on the CD be the same as the HESI exam. I only found one book on HESI where would the teachers get their questions?

I guess not all schools do like we do. Each semester in every class we take a Hesi for that subject. Some count it as our final grade, some dont.

It sounds like that's what they are thinking about. If so, they buy the test from Hesi, and it comes on disks for each student. The test will be identical in format to the cd that came with your Hesi book. The questions of course will be different.

We also have to take a comprehensive Hesi in our final semester in order to graduate. We get two chances to make 88 or better, or you dont graduate. I would study your book and go over the practice questions on the cd. Be sure to go over the rationales for questions. They've got a lot of good info in it.

no. the cd and the hesi exam questions are not the same. if your school is

thinking of making it a requirement they will order one of the versions the hesi exam. i believe the school can design its own exam or use one of the ten version hesi has. most schools that use it as a requirement for graduation wants a score of 850-900. i hope your school doesn't implement this requirement if you guys are already in your last year.

if they make the discussion to use it get the book asap and read it and re-read anything you are weak in.

that's good that you take the test each semester. we didn't see the real exam until nine days b4 graduation. we needed at least a 900 and ours was on the internet.

are they setting you guys up to fail?! 900 and only 9 days before you graduate?! our first chance to pass is tomorrow, then we'll have another chance right before graduation. Ours is on the disk as far as I know, since thats how all the others have been.

We took the HESI after our 3rd semester to see what we were still lacking so our instructors could focus on those things our last semester. The school designed their own test - so it was not standard and it's not used for a grade.

We will take another HESI the week of finals (in addition to finals) which is one of the 10 standarized tests, it's not designed by the instructors, however, our school does not use this test as a pass/fail thing for NS and we don't get a grade for it instead we are given the results and the idea is for us to study what we were lacking prior to taking the NCLEX.

Our school has a pretty darn good predicitibilty thing going on with HESI vs. the NCLEX which is why we take it......

Our finals are brutal and very hard, so for us, I wish we could take the HESI for our finals - it was far easier......

2nd semester student here and we are taking the HESI practice exam at the end of the semester. I'm hoping it helps!

We have taken HESI exams at the end of each course and then for peds and OB, every test was a HESI test. For graduation, we have to make at least an 850 (I think) and unfortunetly only get once chance before graduation...and it is only 5 days before graduation!! Needless to say, December is going to be a stressful month. I have used the HESI book and the Saunders review book to study for the HESI.

We are taking the HESI in our last few weeks of nursing school. This is required for graduation.....we do not receive a grade for it, per se, but we are required to get a certain score on the HESI. If we fall below that score, we are required to take a review course (such as Kaplan) and the school will not release our transcripts to our state board of nursing until we provide proof of taking the review course.

I think it's a harsh policy, but our school always has above a 97% pass rate.

well we thought we would be okay like the classes before us. this year was the first time the exam was given on the internet . it is pretty hard if you don't have time to prepare for it. thank God we all eventually passed.
