So share how your first test has gone this semester.

Specializes in Orthopedics.

I made an 89! First test in Nursing school. Have the second one on Monday...

Well, it wasnt really a test but rather a quiz, made an 86.7 which they rounded off to a 87. Was hoping for better especially since I studied my butt off but I'm just glad I pass. The real test is next Monday.:redbeathe

I got an A. thank goodness! I just know I will have to study my butt off for every test!

I made a 94 on my first test! So excited!!!

My first test this semester was a math test...but for the class it counts as a P/F, not an actual grade...but of course if you fail it, you'll fail the course! ...And I failed it. And so did everyone else that I have talked to so far. We're getting another chance, but it was ridiculous...what good does a math test do if the multiple choice answers don't even HAVE the correct answer??? I specifically remember these 2 problems on the test...

The first one was a simple mL/hr calculation. You have 1,000mL to infuse over 12hrs. How many mL/hr? Obviously, you divide 12 into 1,000 to get 83.33 = 83mL/hr. I even rechecked my math with a calculator (after I submitted the test because we aren't allowed to use calculators) and I was right...but 83mL/hr wasn't an option in the multiple choice answers!! They were 100mL/hr, 125mL/hr and 200mL/hr. :banghead: Another easy problem was a simple grams to kilograms conversion: 42g = ?kg = 0.042kg. That answer wasn't an option in the multiple choice, either! If you want students to pass the math test to be "competent" with med calculations, please make sure the test is passable and make sure you actually have the CORRECT answer listed in the multiple choice answers!!! :angryfire ::/rant::

Hopefully the next time I take it I wont have that problem and those questions will be fixed. Other students that I have talked to were complaining about the same stuff.

I have my first OB test next week and my first pharm test the week after.

Specializes in ICU/CICU.

no first test yet, but i definitely did better on my OB exam this summer than my PEDS exam eventhough i did my clinical in a peds setting.

Welp took my second test in my theory class went from a 91 on my first test to a 70 on the second  I did pass my IV check offs (IV start and IV push) gotta get my mind right, slow down and breath, ha easier said than done!!

Took my first OB test and ended up with a 76% :( *BUT* at least I passed, because there were a lot (and I mean A LOT!) of people who failed. I also took my first pharmacology test and rocked it with a 90%!!!! :yeah: I was stoked! I don't understand how I can do so well in pharm (and I also did very well in patho, I ended up with an A overall in the class) but not do well on an OB test...
