Hey everyone! I will be starting back to school in August. This is my 2nd to last class of an ADN program. Question: I am retaking this class and am having so much anxiety!! If I fail...I am out. I actually did ok, but failed the last test. Anyone been through this? Other than the obvious....STUDY STUDY STUDY!! Would love to hear from someone with same experience. Cheers!!

Find your learning style? First day of my first nursing class we took a test to 'discover' our individual learning styles.... and we were then told to utilize our learning style textbook and APPLY it!

I failed out of an ADN program once. I had to have an 80% or above by midterm and i had a 79%. I felt bad. so the next school i went to i learned different study habits. I would read the material, make out lines of the chapter. know s/s of diseases. learn the diets to the disorders. get a nclex review book. (saunders is good). review the disorders you are learning in class in saunders. ask the teachers if u don't understand. get a study group going..not to many people. go to after school tutoring if available. make time to study (early morning, late nights) eat well, get plenty of rest. You will do fine.

I'm starting back this Fall to finish my last year of school for my AAS in nursing and I'm going to focus on this being a 2nd chance, not my last chance. We have to think positive, they let me in the first time because they saw potential and they are letting me back in for the same reason. I failed the math test, so I don't have any real advice other than figure out what went wrong the first time for you and focus your changes in those areas...Good Luck to both of us!

Just wanted to wish you lots of luck. I think if you stay positive, ask lots of questions and try to stay on top or ahead you'll do fine. Also don't be afraid to ask for help if you feel you need it.
Good luck, Zoe
Thank you everyone sooo much! I really appreciate all the advice. Good luck to everyone! WE CAN DO THIS!!!!
You have a wonderful attitude. That is such a great way to look at that they DID choose you and me too! Thanks for that!

I totally agree with what you said. I also think that you also need to make sure the teacher knows who you are. You always tend to get "brownie points" if the teacher knows who you are and they how bad you want it.
