I have done extensive research through old threads, however, I'd still like to post for feedback.
For Florida specifically:
I am a newly licensed RN (BSN). The only ding I have is from 2004, when I was 18 years old. A misdemeanor of possession of marijuana less than 20g. I pled no contest, there was no conviction, and it was adjudication withheld.
(Side Note: this charge did not show up on my criminal background check for nursing school because they only checked the county listed on my drivers license. The offense happened in a neighboring county where I have no past addresses, utilities, phone numbers, etc. I have no ties to this other county where the offense occurred.)
I was honest on all job applications about my criminal history. I was selected to interview at a huge level 1 trauma center in central FL. I interviewed and got the job :)
Now I was sent to the third party company, PreCheck, for my background check. Again, I was honest about my history. I checked "yes" to "Have you ever been convicted or pled no contest or had adjudication withheld for any charges..."I have to admit I am feeling uneasy about my job offer being cancelled because of this 12 year old charge. What do you guys think? I know people post about how they've gotten jobs with felonies, but I can't help but to be worried.

Hello there, and happy new year! We have moved your thread to our Nursing Licensure With a Criminal History forum. We wish you the very best of luck with the job.
In that case it is a duplicate thread. I posted in the other board for a wider response.
Anyone, please.

I live in Florida also, the only thing I can advise is to be honest which you already have been, and get this expunged off your record ASAP!

i'm not sure what kind of response youre looking for here. Should you be worried? Of course. Anyone would be. regardless of the crime or the circumstance, people with criminal records are often stigmatized. and its impossible not to feel like youre at a disadvantage, even if it really isn't a big deal. If you want proof, read some of the posts on this forum of people being absolutely crucified needlessly.
with that said, should you be worried? sure, maybe. but SHOULD you worry? Nah. Why bother? you were honest on your application, and theres no use getting grays over things you cant control. Do your due-diligence and keep in close contact with them to make sure you have a clear answer as to whether or not youre offered the position so that you dont waste your time harping on it instead of applying elsewhere. There are so many things to stress over in this world, so don't add onto it by pining over things you essentially cant change. just hope for the best, and have a backup plan
and as always, just keep swimming :)
