Ohio RN-pending 1st degree misdemeanor theft charge

Published

I need any advice anyone has. RN Ohio, been a nurse since 2015. Never been in trouble in my life. Was at a staff job and had put my resignation in to go to a travel job. Did background check, came back had an active warrant for missed court date for 1st degree misdemeanor theft. Had no idea about the court date, bc the certified mail was never delivered. Went to the court had the active warrant dropped, was set to start my contract fri Jan 17th. Now the contract has been cancelled bc of my pending theft charge. So have no job currently. Stressed out. Going to court Friday. The lawyer wants me to take the diversion program bc never been in you're before and says then it will be dismissed. Has anyone event done this? How long does it take? And can u work while doing it? I was told no Ohio hospital will allow you to work w pending theft charge. Is diversion program better or trying to plea out to something lesser? Have my bsn just completed literally. And since I'm not convicted do I still need to report to Ohio BON or only if convicted? When ran a background check for clipboard health this comes up it shows my charges as pending. Will I be able to work with any like per diem agency why this is pending I need income
