In one of the states I renew in, the state allowed you to get 7 CEU, and counted a positive yearly work review to stand for the rest of them.
Recently, one year, I quit a job in June, and started a new one in July. In the fall, I got asked by the BON for my CEUs. I had the 7. I of course had not been at the new job long enough for a yearly assessment.
I then emailed my old job for a copy of my assessment. Guess what, they were done in AUGUST. I had quit before getting my yearly. This scenario which was happening had NEVER entered my mind.
I had to pay a fine ($100) and get 30 CEU which was done easily online for free (had to search them out, but they are there if you look).
My point is, even if they ask you for them, it will freak you out, but can be settled rather quickly. I DID have to take a few days off work until they processed the CEUs (Thursday to Tuesday, I believe) and said I was in good standing again.
HTH!
I want won't bore you with my excuse of how this happened, I just want to correct the problem. Can I take CE courses for previous years to get current on my LPN license without persecution? If yes, how and if not, what do I do?
Thanks.
As to your issue I don't think so. I believe it would be fraudulent.. I am starting to hate that word. I spose you can check with FL BON.
All of my CEU;s are sent to CEBROKER,, which I thought was mandatory for all nurses in the State of Florida. Or perhaps it is that our employer makes us do it.
In any case, I thought the intent was so that the Florida Board of Nursing can simply go to that site and then look to see that we are current on our CEU'S and what ones we have taken.
