Dress for the interview, not the job. You can be in slacks or a dress, but be clean and make sure your clothes fit properly and are not too revealing. This is not the time to look sexy. Take a resume. Take a piece of paper outlining your goals for the next 5 years, or at least be prepared to discuss your goals. Will you have to repay the sponsorship? what are the terms? Consider your response if they ask "why should they hire you after graduation" or "what can you offer our organization". Smile. Turn your cellphone OFF! Ask how many LVN's are in their facility and what depts. they work in. In short, make them believe that you are someone who is trying to make something of her life and want them to be part of it. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Excellent advice!
Remember, you are interviewing them too; jot down some questions you would like answered. I often will keep notes myself as I discuss and interview.
The last several job interviews I have been on have a list of questions they ask. It is a bit grueling but I do my best to be brief and positive.
Good luck, enjoy "the process". Let us know how it went.
Ok, thanks for the tips on my interview. I made copies of my resume, wrote my 5 yr goal plan and talked to my husband a million times about it! I also have all my tutition paperwork and other bills (books, uniforms etc.) to take along.
I'll give an update when it's over. Just need to remind myself to breathe!
dear purple and nightingale,
it looks very positive that i will get the sponsership!!! i was suprised at how relaxed it was. there were only two interviewers so that helped me feel better. they both said that i have what they were looking for in a sponsered student. wow, it looks very promising. will know for sure in a week or so.
thanks for your support and advice.
:balloons: congratulations in advance keep us posted.
