When I used WIA, they paid my tuition, fees, books, uniforms, babysitting money and they let me keep my Pell money. This was a few years ago so they may have changed. Also they pay for your NCLEX ( which is $250) and buy you 2 full sets of uniforms for your first job. As for getting pell or not, if your pell covers all of that plus books, plus fee's and then money left over, what would WIA pay for? and if they do pay for stuff than you would have had to pay that out of pocket anyways. WIA wouldnt not pay for anything and prevent you from receiving the surplus, otherwise why bother?

Hello! I live in Ohio and attend Sinclair Community College in Dayton Ohio...... I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with using WIA funding for Nursing school because i had a couple of qeustions. I was just wondering how it worked with the Pell Grant..? My WIA case worker said that WIA kicks in and pays after the Pell Grant ...and if theres any money left, we wouldnt get a refund, like we usually do... So i didnt want to seem ungrateful if they do approve me for the program, but i count on that refund for living expenses (usually about $400-$500) I was just wondering if anyone had used this before and what there experience was..
