Has anyone taken biol 224 and 251 during a summer semester?

Can biol 224 and 251 be taken during a summer semester?? My plan was to complete the pre-reqs by spring 2011 and apply Fall 2011 at CSN. Unfortunately the last two semesters I wasnt able to get biol 189 so I'm just going to start with my biols this Fall. The only way I could still apply in Fall2011 is if somehow take the last two biols the 2011 summer semester. Is that possible???? Is there other place where I could take the classes??? I would really appreciate any advice. Thank you

I took A&P 1 and micro over the summer last year. My summer courses for this year are just about over. I'm not sure if you mean is taking them and passing possible (yes) or if they are offered this late in the summer, in which case I don't know, but I think it maybe too late.

It depends on the material covered and the length of the summer session (at the community college I attend, students can enroll in traditional 16-week semester long courses during a 5 or 8 week period in the summer). I am guessing that Biol 224 and 251 are anatomy and physiology, respectively?

Yes, I meant if it is possible to pass them in a six week summer semester. Everyone says these classes are very difficult that's why I wonder. Thank you chocOlate for your reply.

Its doable. Just completed my 8 week A&P II - Personally If I had to do it all over again, I would choose not to. I made As in A&P I for lab and lecture. Bs for A&P II lab and lecture. I have no doubt I could have pulled out As for A&P II had I taken it in a regular semester. Also had to study for my TEAS, moved to a new house that was being renovated and dealt with a death in the family during that time so I had a lot on my plate. Perhaps if things were calmer I would have pulled out the A, but maybe not. I learned something about myself. I do better when I have more time to prepare. I don't like feeling rushed. But its certainly doable.

My advice would be to make that decision based on the type of learner you are and how much you have going on right now. Its a lot of material to digest in 6 weeks. You want to set yourself up for the best grade possible.

Not telling you not to do it, but don't make the decision to do it solely based on meeting the deadline.

I'm sorry for your loss mangopeach, hope you're feeling better now. Thank you for your reply, just needed to know if it is possible to pass those classes in such a short time since everyone says not to take any of the biols in a summer sem. because of how difficult they are. I would like to apply next year, and I'm thinking about if I should go for it or not. It is always good hearing from other students who already went through it. Again, Thank you.
