Hi Everyone,
I am new to this board and was wondering if anyone has either been to, or heard of Career Care Institute in Ventura County Ca. I went there on Friday and I took the entrance exam. It all seemed to go a little fast, but I was really excited and wanted to get in. I did good on the exam only to find out the cost is $25,000. Yikes, I am supposed to go in and apply for finacial aid and hope for the best. What do you recommend I do??? I don't think I will get that much aid. Is this the typical cost of Private Vocational Schools? . If anyone has any advice I would much appreciate your input! Thanks!
I attend an LVN school in Lancaster, CA, University of Antelope Valley. I can say this, I've heard HORROR stories from students, instructors, and nurses working in clincal sites about Joseph's School of Nursing, AND CCI LVN students. I'm talking everything from students getting in fist fights with each other in the middle of the hospital, not knowing their stuff (to put it mildly), and very low percentage of students passing the NCLEX... I've even seen some things with my own eyes that just throws me for a loop. The tuition for LVN at UAV is just under $25,000, and they are in the final stages of getting their LVN-RN bridge program approved. In my opinion, schools like Joseph's and CCI (at least the one here in the AV) are cash cows trying to pump out students asap so the school can get their money. They really don't care if the students are knowledgeable and competent to perform nursing care.. Just my two cents...
Thank you for the info. I will have to look into more schools.
Hello!
I actually graduated from CCI in Ventura in Feb 1O and i ended up paying $12,000 .I honestly did not think i would get finical aid but i did. The school on the other hand is very unorgainzed !! The theroy instructor is no longer there wich is too bad!! She was GREAT!! but if you decide to go there its up to you to read, study just to benfit your self in passing your NCLEX .We graduated with 38 and so far 10 have passed .:yeah:I actually take mine next month so good luck !!

Hi Jaii
Can you email me at my private email? I'm not able to respond back to you. Email me at my yahoo account [email protected]
I attend CCI (lancaster campus) as of right now...
VERY GOOD SCHOOL.
IT HAS THE HIGHEST NCLEX PASSING RATE IN AV....
We have remediation EVERY friday for any student thats having difficulties in any area.
and its mandatory for students whose below the grade point average 80%.
and the passing rate for the NCLEX is above 80%.
Hi Everyone,
Im actually new to this but i have a similar question(s) and maybe one of you can help? I've been looking in for schools to become an LVN and seen that CCI offered the program that I'm interested in, the only thing is this is the only school I've looked into and i kinda have my mind set on. I know there are other schools out there that might be better, but I'm looking for one locally and that offers financial aid.
So here are my questions to you would anyone happen to know of any schools located in the Ventura County area? Also what steps should take? What do i need to look/lookout for? what questions do i ask? what is required before becoming a LVN.
