Has anyone heard from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing for Fall of 2009?

Published

Hi I applied to BHSN for fall of 2009 and I was wondering if anyone has been accepted yet. Good luck everyone!

I go to the school now and if anyone has any questions about the day program just ask. By the way yes its pretty hard and very stressful!!!

Seeing that I have no idea how to reply to people who write me (I think my mind is burnt) but I will leave some info for everyone about Bpt Hospital School of Nursing. I only applied there and got in at first try, I went to Housatonic in Bridgeport to do my prereqs beforehand. I know some students that are finishing their prereqs now while doing nursing classes and they are just drained. The course is too hard to do your prereqs at the same time. My advice would be to finish them before starting. As for the school itself, my biggest concern is that they are very disorganized. It seems there is no communication between any of the faculty. These are the classes that must be completed there starting from beginning: 101,102,104,105,201,202,203,204,205. In September through December of your first year you do 101 and 102 (these are the easiest of them all), 104-105 are January through April, May is 201 then summer break. Year 2 just finishes up the last 4 courses and graduation is in early may. Typical school days for 101 and 102 are Mondays off, Tuesday lecture class which is 830 - whenever (usually 3-4pm), Wed is lab class (only a few hours), Thursdays is clinical in the hospital (usually 730 till noon then goes to 230pm starting at 104), and Fridays off. Starting with 104 in January, you start an extra clinical day on Fridays (730-230). This is the typical schedule for first year students. Like I said the class is a challenge and everyone lives day to day trying to make sure they keep their grades higher than 75 or they fail out. If there are any more questions feel free to ask.

Thank you for you honesty. Everyone seems to say the same thing - that you cannot do your prereqs and nursing classes at the same time.

Hi everyone- I'm brand new to allnurses and I've been reading everyone's threads and I'm glad that I'm not the only one going totally crazy! I have also applied to the CT Community Colleges, NVCC as my first choice. Congrats to everyone who was accepted into Bridgeport! I actualy didn't apply there it would be really far for me. So who else is going completely out of their mind waiting for this letter of acceptance!!:banghead: So msdeannah did you get accepted I'm curious to know?

I know alot of people still waiting to hear from BHSN. Some I know have been rejected and others on the waiting list. So no news is good news. Make sure they have everything. My friend did not hear and they were still waiting on a transcript.

Hey everyone! I just got my acceptance letter today (march 21st) :yeah: and I still have friends who have applied that haven't heard anything yet, so don't freak out. I didn't take the TEAS exam until feb. 21st. Has anyone received any additional information about what kind of supplies we'll need to buy?
