Has anyone ever had luck with actually getting rid of a Bully?

I am having trouble with a bully caregiver aide at a board and care home. I do private duty care for one of their patients. I have to ask "the bully" every 2 hours to help me to turn my patient in bed.

She always reacts to me in a hostile and hateful manner to this simple request. She is becoming more aggressive and argues about it each time I work with her. Anyway, I am curious as to if anyone has been able to get rid of a bully or been able to get a bully to change their evil ways?

What worked for you? How did you do it? Thanks for any suggestions.

The bully ended up hanging herself. I didn't have to do a thing.

I agree with the above statement. Many times bullies don't last long and hang themselves. Recently I worked with a bully who also decided to bully a resident who happened to be alert, and oriented. Well, long story short... once I realized it was a form of abuse, that bully was immediately let go and reported to the police, DON, and I'm sure it may get reported to the BON.

If the hostility is escalating as you say, then I wouldn't wait to see where this one goes. Write them up EVERY time, and if things get really ugly (bumping past you, physical stuff, etc) call in a supervisor/manager immediately. If she is becoming more aggressive every time you deal with her I'm afraid at where she will take this and you need to take steps to protect yourself.

Thanks all. At this private duty agency they do not like to hear the nurses complaining about anything. In the past, the nurses who complained about different issues were taken off the work schedule for a month. I am going to go ahead and complain to the board and care supervisor and to my agency about this bully. I will probably be taken off the work schedule for complaining but I don't care. I've had it with this bully.
