Has anyone done the Virtual ATI review?

I did a search on here, but only found 1 thread and it seemed (to me at least) that the responses were off topic for the question...... So here's where I'm at and was wondering if anyone had any insight?

So, I'm thisclose to pulling the trigger on a review series for the NCLEX-PN. But I'm nervous since it's so spend.gif I want to make sure I'm making the right choice and not spending frivolously (although if I pass on the first try- it's money well spent!)

Anyway- I'm doing really well in school- have a high A average. School will be done June 19th, I'll take the exit HESI on July 1st. I'd like to take NCLEX soon after HESI but will give myself time to review again.

My studying pattern is pretty much the same for each topic. I read my text/do the study guide. Then I re read the topic in the Saunders Comprehensive Review for NCLEX PN, do the same in the Comprehensive HESI Pn book, and then round out the whole thing with reading the topic in Straight- A's. This usually gives me a really good understanding of the diseases etc. I try and do between 100 and 200 NCLEX style questions from the different CD's I have. We also are doing "topic" HESI exams. I scored really high on Maternity, I'm taking PEDS this week, and I'll have one in Med Surg, Pharma, and Psych BEFORE I take the exit. We've been told that the exit is harder then NCLEX.

So here's the deal. I don't have the actual time to sit in a classroom 5 hours/day for a week doing a review. I just don't. I talked to the people I babysit for and they are open to letting me have a week + off to study but I'd rather not if I don't have too.

I've looked into the Hurst online review and a few of us were thinking of pitching in and buying that one..... one of my instructors reccomened it and the reviews I've read online have been great....

Then ATI came to talk to us.

There newest product is called Virtual ATI. You get 5 texts, 5 cds/dvds, 5 workbooks. And an instrctor (they have a MAsters degree or higher). When you're done with school they give you a practice nclex and then evaluate your weak points, create a plan (based on your personal life etc) for you for studying, give you assignments, and have 16 additional tests you can take. They work with your for as long as it takes to pass NCLEX (so no expiration like online Hurst). There are a total of 4300 questions that come with the program.

The program is just under $400. So pretty much the same as most review courses.

The few things I've read online say that some felt ATI's questions weren't similar to NCLEX. I've also read a bunch of posts that said a review isn't necessary. I'm afraid to NOT have a review... I know i'm doing well but that doesn't mean anything when it comes to the day to take nclex.

What do I do??????? Has anyone done an ATI reivew, Kaplan, Hurst? Am I doing enough on my own to not need a reivew?

I feel your worried!!! we are in the same boat xcept my is different. I have done tons of questions hope that will help toward the test. I practice the ATI comprehensive online assessment i made 65.9% which i think is very low on my side. I do practice question and make btw 70-76%, but my instructor advise to make 80% and above. which i think is unfair.:bluecry1:. My test date is around the corner.Am scarred of the test ATI LPN :smokin:COMPREHENSIVE PREDICTOR

I have ATI incoperated into my nursing program. I personally feel like ATI is mostly knowledge based, I mean its different than NCLEX style questions from what I have heard about NCLEX. Do they have a sample test you could take to get an idea of their test before you spend that much money? What about just NCLEX Prep books? I went to this seminar and their was a lady their who has these NCLEX books that are suppose to help, you can't buy her book in stores but could go on line to www.statnursing.org. Well hope this helps.

I'm not all that impressed with ATI, especially for the money. Their books are OK but their videos are a complete waste of time.

Personally, I'd save the $$ and just get a good NCLEX review book (Saunders, etc) and work through that.
