hardest/best pre-nursing course!

Published

For the program I'm applying to, the sciences we had to take consist of: A&P 1, A&P 2, General Chemistry, Microbiology, and Food & Nutrition. So of the ones everyone has to take, which did you have the hardest time with, and enjoy most?

I personally LOVED A&P 1, I actually did so great in the lab for the following semester I was selected to be an assistant teaching assistant!

However, I HATED microbiology!! It was really hard for me and didn't really like it because the subject matter was on such a small scale (bacteria/viruses)

How about everyone else?

Love, love, love all the science courses...specifically microbiology, chemistry I, anatomy, and physiology. I find them interesting and I really enjoy the challenge! Of those mentioned, I'd say general chemistry I has been the hardest for me concept-wise, but I've stayed on top of it and have done really well in the class!

Nutrition was okay. It wasn't my favorite but I didn't hate it either.

Not too terribly thrilled with sociology or ethics. I've got As in those two, but I don't find either particularly interesting and it's that lack of interest that makes it a kind of challenge I don't enjoy!!!

I am taking Micro right now and I think it is one of the harest classes (and not as interesting as I thought). I have to admit that I have learned a lot from Micro. I understand bacteria and viruses much better now.

I thought that Nutrition was extremely easy. I didn't have to study that much and got a very high A. I think my teacher was just easy though. And plus I find nutrition interesting, so I already knew a lot about it. I was surprised how little most of my classmates knew.

A&P I and II were really hard but also very interesting. I learned so much in both of those classes.

Chemistry is hard and not that interesting. One thing I like about it is that once you get it you get it. And not that much memorizing. I think I liked all my classes in one way or another.

I'm having a really hard time with microbiology right now. Sure, the labs are fun and the professor is nice... but the amount of information thrown at us is overwhelming. It doesn't help that I'm taking A&PII right now as well, but surprisingly that class isn't so bad. I can't wait until micro's over with and I hope I'll get at least a C because I really don't feel like retaking it. The books were insanely expensive! $160 for the text, $91 for the lab book and then $20 for the class notes.

I loved all the core sciences and didn't think any of them were particularly difficult.

I didn't care for statistics, nutrition, nor human development. None were hard but neither did I find them interesting.

The easiest of the them all? Probably chemistry.

The most difficult? Microbiology, but mostly because of the teacher -- Out of about 50 people, I carried the only A into the final...
