Hi everyone! I was recently hired for the NICU at Harbor-UCLA new grad program, starting in March 2025. Im super excited to begin this journey and would love to connect with others who are also starting in March!
If youre in the same cohort (or have any insight on what to expect), feel free to comment or message me.

It took them a week for them to give me an offer and they said I would start May 1st

And I would work Med/Surg

It took them a week after you received your health clearance to contact you ? did they give you a choice of starting march or may? or did they just assign you?

No sorry I meant it took a week after my interview for them to reach out to me for an offer. And they didn't give me an option to start in March, they just said that I'll be starting May 1st. I just did the live scan a couple of days ago, so I'm just waiting for them for an appointment for health clearance

I was hired for med surge as well. I really wanted to start in march but now it does not look likely . I just got the official health clearance today and they said to wait for HR next steps. So I guess may cohort it is.

Congrats! I'm hoping I can make the May 1st. If not, I'll have to take a different offer. These onboarding processes sure do take a while. LOL

No the offers don't have the date of start. It is contingent upon live scan and health clearance. Some background checks take longer and health clearance. I got an offer from LA general and after my interview I got my offer on the 19th, I had an interview with them on the 13th so 6 days for contact after the interview, I then went and did my live scan and paperwork on the 20th now im currently waiting for my appointment for the health screening.
For Harbor I had an interview that same week as LA general, my interview was on the 11th. They have yet to reach out and with an offer or denial, I called (this was before I got my offer at LA general) they said they usually make contact within 10 business days but I have heard from others that the managers are telling them to wait 3 weeks to hear back. It's also good to note that harbor process for hiring from initial interview has been taking 2-3 months sometimes longer. LA general has been overall quicker.

That's great! Congrats in that offer letter email it should tell you to go do your live scan within 5 days I would go asap. Harbor tends to take a while
Hi! I received my test results (100.00) and followed up with them by email with my 3 preferences, nursing license, BLS, Test results, resume, and cover letter and was told that they were not looking for anymore new grads/my preferred position had been filled and that my application would be considered in the next cycle/ if a position opens up. Anyone in the same boat? I was debating if I should call them to ask if they have other positions other than the ones I listed as a preference in my initial email.

I think that wouldn't hurt; to contact them to see if there are other areas. Also, keep in mind, they do a cohort every couple months.

I was hired at the end of the interview. The offer did not have a start date because it depends how long you take to finish all of the processing. They mentioned either march or may cohort.
