Harbor UCLA 2025 New Graduate Program

Published

Hi everyone! I was recently hired for the NICU at Harbor-UCLA new grad program, starting in March 2025. Im super excited to begin this journey and would love to connect with others who are also starting in March!

If youre in the same cohort (or have any insight on what to expect), feel free to comment or message me.

1. Tell me about yourself.

2. Why do you want to work at Harbor-UCLA?

3. What do you think you'll struggle with as a new grad nurse?

4. Tell me about a time you faced a challenge and how you handled it.

5. If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

These were the questions I got when I interviewed on Thursday, 2/13. The manager emailed me to tell me I got the position and to wait for HR to send out my official offer letter.

Was this for adult ED?

No, this was for PICU. I did read somewhere (earlier in this thread) that the questions were roughly the same regardless of the unit. Not 100% sure of it, but others had very similar questions to those I listed.

Hi everyone ! Would you guys happen to know how the pays work for RN1 full time position? I believe they mentioned it was salary based not hourly as a full time nurse ?

Hi everyone, so I just applied through the website. I did the assessment this past weekend, didn't receive confirmation of completing the assessment (assuming because I completed it on the weekend) will they email me back confirming I completed the assessment or offer me information on following steps / interview ?
Hope someone can help, I'm a bit lost LOL

You'll receive an email with the results within a few days of taking the assessment. Once you get that, send it over to [email protected] along with your resume, cover letter, and your nursing license and certifications. Let them know the 3 departments you prefer.

Oh okay thanks ! Also, how do I know what departments are hiring for new grads or is there a website where I can see that information?

hello everyone,

How long did it take HR to contact you after you were emailed that you were all clear from the health clearance. Just wondering if it was next day or took awhile and what are the next steps after that.

Thanks

I'm still waiting for HR to contact me after the live scan. How long did it take HR to contact you for their health clearance appointment after the live scan?

It took about 4 weeks for them to contact me that I was cleared and that I needed to do my health clearance. They sent an email with an appointment. I really wanted to start with the march cohort but now it does not look likely.

How long did it take for them to contact you after the initial interview to give you the offer? Also, the offer didn't specify when you would start?
