Hi everyone! I was recently hired for the NICU at Harbor-UCLA new grad program, starting in March 2025. Im super excited to begin this journey and would love to connect with others who are also starting in March!

@SandyKat Hi, may I ask how long it took after you completed your Livescan to get a notification to schedule your health clearance appointment?

Its took about 4 weeks. The whole hiring process takes forever.

I didn't hear back til about 2 weeks after from my recruiter and he said that I need to wait til HR contacts me by email for my intake processing information. I think you get that on your first day, based on what I'm hearing from others. Not sure tho

My recruiter said to wait for 2 emails from HR for intaking information, benefits, etc. I am going to call again if I don't hear by next week.

Anyone starting in ICU? And knows how the residency program is like and the layout of the floor ?

I think because your in Mays cohort things will kind of on pause for you as they get the ones starting before you cleared. That seems to be their pattern, I am going to LA general and start next month and they are finally moving quickly to get everything completed before the start date. I did my live scan on feb 22nd it just got cleared today and I was contacted a couple of hours ago for my appointment to do the health clearance.

So, are you starting in April cohort for La general?  For harbor ucla the next cohort is in May. I  barely missed the March cohort by a week.

Yes I am starting at LA General for the April cohort I went with them instead due to it being the actual speciality that I wanted. (NICU) Since they use the same HR department it's backed up and I'm assuming they are getting Aprils cohort out the way this month and will get you guys going next month I've heard how slow Harbors process is though. 

After you health clearance you should receive the online in processing packet and thats when you do the benefits stuff and get the start date and intake date that's just the information I received in my email from my recruiter on the next steps.

You should receive your band results after 1 day to a few days at least for me after that you reach out to them. On the LA general thread here I put the detailed instructions on how to reach out to both Harbor and LA gen to get an interview.

Thanks. Weird I haven't received my results or anything yet, and took the assessment 2.5 weeks ago.

Anyone know if any units are hiring right now at harbor ? Just got my results back. I'll be emailing them my stuff soon, just curious if there are any openings as I saw someone above say there weren't a little bit back.

@Becomingnurse22 Hi I'm graduating in May and am wondering about the entire process of applying to UCLA harbor for their nicu. Also how has the program been so far? Any information would be helpful! Thank you !
