Does anyone know if there will be a new cohort ?

I'm not sure but I interviewed in May and they said they'd let me know in June. Now it's end of June and recruitment said they still haven't finalized results. Not too sure what's going on 😞

ohh how did u reach out to the recruitment?

Hello everyone, I received an email on Monday about job opportunities at HUCLA and this came as a surprise as I applied to DHS for LA General in April. In the email it had all the info for Transition to Practice program at HUCLA, and the Form 500 nursing application to I guess apply for an interview slot. Has anyone else got this email as well? From what I have been reading they are interviewing more than hiring.

Interesting that you also applied in April! I submitted everything and haven't heard back as well.

hey guys, I got the hiring freeze email and the harbor ucla email aswell LOL. IDK whats going on but the units seem like theyre all very limited and only accepting less than 3 people for each unit which is insane.

Anyone here interview for behavioral health/psych yet? I have an interview on Tues and could use some friendly pointers! Thanks!

It's a 2 year commitment. Correct me if I'm wrong, but for the 1st year of the new grad residency, it starts off with 1 month of basic orientation. Then once you complete that, it's 12-18 weeks of specialty orientation (the unit you got hired for) with a preceptor. They continue to monitor & guide you throughout the year - with the rest of the year containing "pit stop learning.” So mock codes, educational activities, simulation labs, etc.

Then the 2nd year is a professional mentorship (which can take up to 3-6 months). You continue to do "pit stop learning" throughout the 2nd year as well. It may seem like a long commitment but the nurses that work at Harbor-UCLA basically know everyone from what I heard. A reference from them for future jobs can go a long way.

I've never heard anyone that has gone into Harbor-UCLA's RN residency program and not come out as a confident nurse. So their spots get taken up quick
