I was kicked out of two different universities for poor grades prior to finishing a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field and then going to nursing school (I graduated from nursing school in May of this year). I was going through a lot at the time personally, it was a really low point in my life and it was a cause of great shame for years. When it comes to nursing school, It doesn't always matter what your previous transcripts look like, sometimes it depends on the school. In my case, I used the experience to discuss what I had learned about myself in the process, and how I had changed. If you are given this opportunity, either in a personal statement and/or an interview, use it. Apply to different schools and see what happens. Good luck to you!

Hey all, Have any of you received information yet re: orientation? We are less than 2 weeks away from starting and I am wondering when they are going to let us know where we go for orientation and what time each day. If anyone has any idea, please share! Thanks!

At the end of my interview (for BMC), they said they would let me know by the end of the week. However, I just got a call today with a verbal offer.

Hey all, just a heads up for those of us still waiting to hear/interview, I just got a call from my prospective unit (BMC), requesting to reschedule my interview for next week. LLUH is in the midst of a Joint Commission visit, so in case you don't hear anything this week, this is probably why!

I did, I got a call yesterday. My interview is next Wednesday. I wish I knew what kinds of questions they are going to ask! It's a panel interview.

I think it depends on which unit. They did specify that their limited units (all units except ICU and Progressive Care) likely have fewer than 3 positions available. I believe behavioral health/psych is 1 position.

I just interviewed for behavioral health/psych today, and was told I should hear back in 1-2 weeks. Good luck to us!
