I was wondering if anybody has heard of Half.com. I am wondering cause i am starting the nursing program in January and ive heard that you can get school books for like half price. If you have gotten your school books can you let me know cause i would like to take advantage of the cheaper books. For my first semester my books if i buy them at the school bookstore are going to be around 850 dollars. That is riduculous i cant see paying that much for books. So if anybody has bought their books from that site please tell me about it ya know if it is a good deal or what. Ill be looking forward to hearing from somebody thanks again.

I knew someone in my class that got her there, and sold them back there. Becareful about editions though. It makes it very hard to keep up if you have the wrong edition of a book. Also you might check and see if you have a bulletin board at school and see if anyone is selling them cheap. I kept all my books for reference when I go back to work.

I love Half.com. I've never had a problem with any text book I've purchased through them. Try this site to get price comparisons:

Most of the time Half.com has the cheapest price but sometimes they don't. I saved at least $300 this year (when compared with the campus bookstore).

You know where else you can get some great deals? Go to Barnes and Noble's website, then plunk in the information you're looking for. See if you don't have a list of choices, including used books through their booksellers. Half.com is owned by eBay; several other booksellers have used book counterparts. I actually did much better on B&N used books most of the time, but did use eBay AND Half.com sometimes. Do watch the editions, though, and be very careful about matching ISBNs, etc.....know if there's supposed to be a CD with it, stuff like that.

Good luck!

I have gotten the last 2 semesters books at Half.com...no complaints! However, do be mindful of the editions like the above poster said....

I buy my books at Half.com and sell them back at the college bookstore-very simple and quick for this stay at home mom!

I love Half.com! Like others have said - check the ISBN number, and make sure everything is included with it if it's supposed to have a CD or something; then I just sell them back at the college bookstore...

Same here...I have been getting mine through half.com for the last 2 semesters with no problems...one of mine for this semester was 112.95 at the bookstore and I got it for 15.95 shipping and all through half.com and it looks brand new...so get the ISBN numbers and do a search and good luck...

Half.com is good, but make sure you shop around. I checked amazon.com used sellers, and barnesandnoble.com used sellers. I ended up getting about half of my books from amazon used sellers, and half from barnes... nothing from Half.com. Also, the offerings will change from week to week depending on when semesters are ending, etc. I got all my books within a week of ordering, and they were all in excellent shape. I saved a whopping 50%! :yelclap:

I like half.com, I always get the right books. If you know the title, right editions, author names, you should be able to get the right books. I ordered most of my nursing books on half.com. I also purchased some through Amazon. Same amount of money for shipping.

I bought all my books for my undergrad (BSW) on half.com. I sold most all of them there too. Majority of the time I made all my money back too. And I always paid at most half the price it was being sold for at the universities bookstores. I highly recommend it!
