;) Today, I interviewed for an RN position for CTF and/or Salinas Valley State Prison. I forgot to ask at the end when will they decide on which candidate to hire. Anyone here based on experience know how long was the wait from the time you interviewed to the time you were offered the position? Thanks!

I don't know of that particular facility, but...where I work we have interview, oral boards, integrity interview, physical, lie detector...the whole canole, then the job offer. Took about 3 to 4 months to jump all those hoops. No idea if you have to go through that, but hang in there...and a follow up email or call to express continued interest couldn't hurt.

I just went through the interview. i was told to wait 2-3 weeks for response. They called me back 3 days later telling me I got the job. 3 days after that i received paperwork for the physical exam and so on.....the process has been fast once the interview was done. This may differ from facility to facility, state to state...best of luck

thanks kora0880, is it also for CTF? Congratulations! I just got a call today (3 working days from my date of my interview) from personnel to clarify if my preference permanent or limited term, i just said i'm open for both. The lady then said I'll hear from them shortly. No job offer yet. But I'm hoping that's a good sign!

Well its good that they are looking at your paperwork :) I will be starting at the R J Donovan on the 22nd......best of luck!

:yeah: Just got a call this afternoon, and I got an offer for a limited term RN position!! :nurse:

The lady told me to expect a packet in the mail, forms, fingerprinting, etc. in a day or two! Excited! :yeah:

Kora0880.....I want to work at donovan....How did you get in? I turned in my papers 1-2 months ago. also, can you tell me what you said regarding the 5 scenarios in your interview. thank you.

Hi PrincessDiRN...i know this post is a lil bit delayed but I just wanna ask how your interview was at CTF? If you don't mind, what were the questions asked during your inyerview? I have an interview there next week and I'm highly highly anxious that I might not be able to answer the questions :( I've been looking for an rn job for more than a year now and it's just really hard to land on one here in the bay area...this is just my fifth interview out of the hundred applications I sent so far. I really just want to do all best efforts to prepare for the interview...and I really desperately need a job. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you so so much.

How was the physical, what did you have to do? How did the interview go, what did they ask? I amlooking for a correctional job also.

We shouldn't be posting what the questions are for the oral exam. That would be unethical.

I'm sorry if you feel that way. I thought it was okay since there is a really long thread here primarily discussing the interview questions nurses encountered after going through it. Just like the many other nurses here, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask around too.

Hi Princess,

I was wondering if you could please clarify "limited term"? is there a guarantee on the time to work?

Thanks!
