thanks kora0880, is it also for CTF? Congratulations! I just got a call today (3 working days from my date of my interview) from personnel to clarify if my preference permanent or limited term, i just said i'm open for both. The lady then said I'll hear from them shortly. No job offer yet. But I'm hoping that's a good sign!

Had Interview today for CTF/SVSP...now what?
Today, I interviewed for an RN position for CTF and/or Salinas Valley State Prison. I forgot to ask at the end when will they decide on which candidate to hire. Anyone here based on experience know how long was the wait from the time you interviewed to the time you were offered the position? Thanks!

So How Do I Get My Foot In The Door?
Call the Human Resources office of the hospital and ask if they have positions for student nurses. Some hospitals do!

Hi, RNLola035, how did you apply at Washington Hospital in Fremont? What is their preferred way of applying? Are you still working there? How do you like it?

I'm so disappointed..
AT LEAST YOU PASSED! :) Look at the bright side! If you want a higher score next time, work on truly understanding the material. Sometimes students tend to study for the test, not to study to learn. Nursing exams require critical thinking and sometimes it helps if you visualize youself. Ask yourself, "What would I do if I'm at the bedside right now?" ...if it's that type of question. You may also want to try flashcards...these would be helpful when NCLEX-RN comes along, too! Good luck on your future exams...because there will be plenty more!!! :)

Advice needed......should I change my game plan?
An RN program surely will take you at a minimum 2 yrs to complete once you're done with your prereqs. I support you starting out as an LVN and work your way to an RN degree...since you said you need to work ASAP. This I think is the better path for your needs as of right now. Another 2 yrs of not working is a really long time for a single mom as yourself. BUT definitely work on getting your RN as soon as you get your LVN license and working.
