I have applied for a work visa for the position as a dialysis nurse. I was filed last april 1 2009 and was wondering when will i get to have a visa? Anyone with a similar status of mine???:specs:

NurseCubanitaRN2b- ive been calling their office since last year.i mean my lawyer and petitioner.what ever you'll say,we've done it already several times.ive been doing everything to expedite it.so just to pass time,i go to allnurses.com.

Frustration, been there and done that. Just try to be a bit patient more, hope you get the answers you want and soon! Good Luck!!!

To JNC2010...... Sometimes USCIS couldn't beat the timeframe given to the applicants especially now, there april 2010 applicants which are still pending. That's why AILA is pressuring the USCIS. Check AILA link H1B Visa Attorney - USCIS Advises on Priority Adjudication of H-1B Cap-Subject Cases :: Visa Lawyer Blog. What more Greencard for nurses, Approx. it takes 6 years of processing for you to start working. They call it retrogession. Misconception again to some, greencard for nurses is not close actually, it's open but it's very hard to scout a hospital/petitioner who is willing to wait for about 6 years  before you could start working. Remember, obtaining a visa is not our right or claim, it's just a privilege, allowing/permitting to stay legally in the US. Back in the mind of USCIS, if you couldn't wait, it's your discretion to backout. I suggest you to read this USCIS link USCIS - Search

then click the "Guidance on Adjucation of H1b Petitions Filed on Behalf of Nurses." So don't just believe to someone, giving words coming from his mouth. There must be a basis. If not, it may be a gossip only. That's why I always back up my words with basis and that would only come from USCIS because they are the one who would aprrove/deny your application not me or someone else. Let's pray for the best.

hi can i know your email address? i also have the same issues. im also planning to get an h1b visa.

Hi All,

I have a Masters degree in biotechnology (from india) with 3+ years of experience as a professor of biotechnology courses and some experience working as a genetic lab testing.

I am in US on a H1B dependent (H4) visa and wish to take an associate degree in nursing course, after which I plan to give RN licensure.

Considering that I have a masters degree from india and some experience in non-nursing (but biology) field, will I be eligible for H1B after my ADN-RN ?

Please give some suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

I had in aunt in New Jersey who is working on a nursing care home. She is quality assurance coordinator and her facility is willing to sponsor me for H1B visa. They had a lawyer already to help me to file for the H1B visa to USCIS. They want me to file for the charge nurse position in their facility. But after all these suggestions and comments from the administrators, will I still continue to file for H1b Visa? I was disheartened reading all theses post. I had my NCLEX and visa screen already with an ongoing staff nurse work here in our secondary hospital. Does anybody here had the same experience as mine? You're reply is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You can still make the decision to continue with your plans but your employer in the US has to prove without doubt that they can not employ a USC or someone already in the US with legal work visa or immigrant visa

Anyone here who has been petitioned as a Nursing Supervisor thru H1B visa in a skilled nursing facility? What are the chances of being approved or has been approved already for FY 2011? Please share some encouraging stories.. Thank you very much...

God is so good! He answered my prayer and hoping that the visa stamping interview will run so smoothly. No hard questions : Working visa for nurses doesn't need to have a Visa Screen Cert only those who are applying for I-140 or immigrant visa petition. However, you still need it when you like to change your status from H1B to green card.

I find that VSC is not required for H1b hard as VSC is required for both immigrant or work visa and is stated accordingly on CGFNS website

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), under section 343 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, requires the following health care professionals who are educated outside the United States and who are seeking temporary or permanent occupational visas or Trade NAFTA (TN) status:

CGFNS International

If you haven't got it you may find that it is required for your interview and your visa may be delayed if not submitted

The CGFNS is only applicable for those nurses who have foreign trainning. If I completed my nursing school in usa and got my RN license in usa too, then I don't need to take the CGFNS when I try to apply H1B visa and green card. Is it correct?

if you completed your training in the us then you still need a vsc because you are applying for a temp working or permanent visa for the us as according to the website

section 343 of the illegal immigration reform and immigrant responsibility act (iirira) of 1996 requires specific healthcare professionals born outside of the u.s. to successfully complete a screening program before they can receive either a permanent or temporary occupational visa including trade nafta status.
